"Very good! " Mani giggled as she stood up straight from bending down to talk to the little girl painting a picture of her and her mom.
A knock from the door made her attention turn to see the lady from the front desk of the daycare with a young boy and someone she expected to never see again.
She almost teared up seeing the young boy standing there. She sighed and brushed it off walking to the three.
"Hi Ms. Skyway! Is this a new friend? " she questioned waving at the young boy dressed in a Dino outfit standing tall and confident.

"Yes ma'am! This is I'maje and his mother Serenity. He will be in your class from now on. Sorry it's already half way through the day. " The lady said hoping she didn't interrupt class.
"It's fine. We're at free time so you didn't interrupt any of the children. "
As she finished her sentence Jordan and Makayla walked up.
"I'm Jordan that's Makayla. We're your new friends cmon. " he said grabbing the boys hand about to drag him away.
The girl, Makayla. Punched her brother in the arm causing him to let I'maje go.
"You can't force him stupid. You have to ask. He's not a doll. " she exclaimed getting upset crossing her arm and tapping her foot. A habit she developed from her mom.
The two began to argue while the adults just watched and laughed at the interaction. Or two of them did. One set of eyes never left the small daycare teacher.
She swiped her tongue over her teeth. Handing Ms. Skyway her sons bag before walking out the building and getting in her car.
She sighed before calling someone and starting the car.
"I found her. She's jays fucking teacher. For fucks sake. I THOUGHT YOU SAID SHE FUCKING MOVED!! "
"S-she did ma'am. She must've moved back. Do you want us to find another school for him? " The person on the other side stuttered out.
"No. That's the best school here. It'll be fine. Maybe she's ready to come back home. "

As Imani waved bye to the last of the kids she turned around to realize I'maje was the last child left.
"Oh. Um. Is your mother normally later? " she asked trying not to come off as rude or anything. That wasn't her intent.
"Yeah. She has to take care of the people first. Then she can come and get me and we go home and watch paw patrol. " he explained to her his main focus being the block tower he was building.
