I was standing infront of the door of the hospital room my aunt was in. I was taking deep breaths, it was hard for me to be here but I also knew that it was even harder for her to be here so I pulled myself together and knocked at the door.

"Come in" a raspy voice said through the door.

I opened up the door slowly and checked out the room. It was a normal room with a big window and a bed in the corner of the room. My aunt was laying in said bed, reading a book. She wasn't looking good. She had bags under her eyes like she hadn't slept in ages. She tried to smile at me the best as she could. I smiled back at her, I was wearing sunglasses because I didn't want her to see the black eye which was a result of the fight yesterday.

"Hey Y/n" she said, I could hear she had gotten worse since I visited her the last time.

"Hey aunt Sophia" I responded.

"I glad you came, how was your history exam?" she asked me puting her book on nightstand.

"Mhh good... good" I lied not wanting her to know I skiped every day of school since she was in the hospital.

"Y/n,you don't have to lie to me" she said pointing to chair next to the bed for me to sit on.

"Yeah I know" I sighed sitting down on the chair.

"Could you please take off the sunglasses Y/n" she asked me.

"We're in Outerbanks everybody wear's sunglasses.

"Y/n, please. I wanna see your eyes" she said.

I took a deep breath, preparing for her reaction, before taking of the sunglasses revealing my black eye.

She gasped covering her mouth with her hand. "What happend" she asked looking at me worried.

"Nothing just a fight yesterday at a party, please don't freak out."

"I won't freak out, I'm just worried about you" ... *She takes my hand*

"How are your friends" she changed the subject.

"Ohh they're good, the waves are wild at the time so we've been surfing more than we already did.

Aunt Sophia thaught me how to surf when I was 7. At 8 I took her title as "Outerbanks surfmaster" for kids below 10

Basically she thaught me everything I know. She was the only one I had besides my friends.

"Ohh how much I wish we could surf together again" she said sad that that isn't going to happend any time soon.

"We will, I promise" I said tightening my grip around her hand.

We continued talking for a while until it was time for me to leave. I said goodbye, leaving the room.

I was about to leave the hospital when somebody called my name. I turned around, seeing a doctor coming towards me.

"Are you Mr.L/n" He said with a professional tone.

"Yeah that's me" I answered with a questioning face.

"Do you... have a minute" He asked.

"Y-Yeah why" I said getting even more confused.

"It's about you're aunt. It isn't looking so good." A knot started to tie in my throat.

"The chemo isn't working, it shows no effect on her. It's useless and we wanted to ask her about quiting the treatment, but we wanted to ask you first since you are her only close relativ living in Outerbanks."

I had to pull myself together so I wouldn't break out into tears.

"Does that mean she going to die" I said with a shaky voice.

"No, her imunesystem could still beat the cancer itself. We just wanted to know how you feel about us asking her."

I couldn't talk, it was like my head was empty.

"I-I" I stuttered. I just couldn't, I felt like I was about to throw up, I thought that everything is gonna be okay in a few months but right now it didn't seem like anything is going to be okay.

I just started walking out off the hospital not looking back.

"Mr.L/n" the doctor asked confused as I walked out of the door.

I got on my bike and started driving to the beach. I tried to process the information but I just couldn't.

I arrived taking my surfboard from the side of the motorcycle.

I walked to the water taking my shirt of getting into the water.

I started surfing trying to let everything go for a moment but it didn't work. I still continued to surf for about 2 hours before I went home.

I was laying in my bed.
I felt alone, I would've texted JJ, John B, Kiara or Pope. But JJ didn't have a phone neither did John B. Pope was helping his dad in his shop and Kiara was working in her parents reasturant. I also didn't dare to text Sarah since the fight, I was afraid she would be mad at me for punching Rafe and her being mad at me was the last thing I could use right now.

So in the end I just ended up crying myself into sleep.

That was chapter number two. It's not that long because I wrote the whole chapter today, the other chapter will come out next week. The next chapter will also start the plot.
