They closed the door.
I screamed and cried.
I didn't understand.
What was happening?
I felt as if someone was controlling me. I was doing things I didn't want to do. It felt strange, and I didn't like it.
I finally stopped acting that way later. I was unable to talk. I was tired. I didn't want to hurt anyone. I didn't want to stay there. I wanted to see Sam. I wanted to move my arms. I wanted to look outside of a window.
I was sad. I was very sad.
The door opened, and Dr. Harris came in. He had something in his hand.
"Hi, Rachel. Have we had a bit of an eventful day?"
I sniffled on the bed.
"Can I sit next to you?"
I nodded. I was still very sad. He sat on the bed next to me.
"Can you tell me what happened?"
I didn't know how to tell him. I had no words.
"Can you tell me how you feel?"
"Sad."
"Why are you sad?"
I sniffled some more.
"I bad girl."
He had a strange look.
"Why were you a bad girl?"
I shrugged.
"Were you mad at someone?"
"No."
"Did something scare you?"
"No."
"Were you confused?"
"No.... Yes."
"Okay. What were you confused about?"
"I a-a-am confused."
"Alright. What are you confused about?"
"Why I bad girl."
"You're confused about why you were a bad girl? That makes two of us, then. Tell me about your day. What happened after you ate lunch?"
"Af-ter lunch... I nap."
"You took a nap?"
"Yes."
"That's good. Anything else?"
"Woke up. Was... Was bad girl."
He nodded his head and stood up.
"No.... Stay, please."
"I'll be back in just a minute."
"Stay, no leave, stay..."
"I promise I'll be back."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
He left for a few minutes and came back.
"Come with me."
"Where... Where going?"
"Back to your room."
"Wait... Arms..." I tried to stand up, and lost my balance. He helped me stand up, and brought in the lady who tied my arms.
"No... No, I good girl..."
"I know, sweetie. I'm sorry. I'm going to untie you," she said.
"I good girl."
"I know."
She went behind me, and I tried to get away. Dr. Harris held me in place as she untied my hands. I was able to move them, and I gave Dr. Harris a hug.
"Thank you," I told him.
"You're welcome, Rachel. You're a very good girl."
"I go back room?"
"Yes."
He took me back to my room and I took a shower with some help from the nice ladies - er, nu-rs-es. After my shower, they brought me soop. Em-ma came and we learned words. Fe-el-ings, she called them. I learned fe-el-ings, and we learned words about fur-ni-ture. I re-memb-er bed, ta-ble, and oth-ers. Em-ma made me write sen-ten-ces, and I read my sen-ten-ces to her. She is nice.
Bef-ore bed, Lisa comes with Sam. I hug Sam.
"I miss you!"
"I missed you too, Rachel. I love you so much."
I look down and see his hand is not on his arm.
"Where ha-nd?"
He looks sad.
"I don't have a hand there, Rachel. But look, I have the other one."
I look at his arm with no hand. It makes me sad. I give him another hug.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Rachel. I missed you so much."
Sam went with Lisa, and Em-ma finished learning with me. I went to bed.
