Once Enid and I make it to the room next door, we noticed we were already beat to the spot by Principle Weems and 4 other people. A Husband and Wife and their 2 sons. By the way the more slender and taller boy was examining the room I guessed he was the new student. I cleared my throat to make our presence known. Once we had the attention of everyone I noticed my presumed dorm neighbor. It took me a while to process all of his facial features to remember he was the guy Xavier drew.
"Howdy neighbor!" Enid greeted the boy in front of us.
"Wednesday, this is Enid Sinclair and Y/n L/N" Principal Weems introduced us to the boy who's name I just learned was Wednesday.
"Hello" I simply greeted, he didn't look like someone who appreciates talking that much. So I kept it short and sweet.
"Are you feeling okay? You look pale."
" I'm sure he's fine, Enid" I assured, putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.
" He always looks half dead" The slender, graceful woman explained.
" Well welcome to Ophelia Hall!" Enid said while advancing in for a hug.
"Enid don-" I attempted to warn but before I could finish Wednesday had flinched back.
"Not a hugger, got it"
"Please excuse Wednesday, he's allergic to color." The woman who I guess is Wednesday's mother explained.
" Oh wow, what happens?" Enid asks looking genuinely curious.
" I break into hives and the skin peels off my bones" Wednesday bluntly stated before Enid grimaced.
" Are you allergic to light or the color on clothing?" I asked Wednesday. He looked over at me with a small hint of surprise on his face.
" Both "
" Well that can't be right, since your outfit is mostly black, clothing companies usually use a very dark blue or green to get the color black." I argued. He didn't seem to have a comeback as I waited for an answer. He probably made it all up so he doesn't have to be in contact with Enid.
" Well we still made you a custom uniform" Ms. Weems informed Wednesday, All Wednesday could do was glare at me before he turned to the principal.
Later on Wednesday, Enid and I walk around the school as Enid fills in Wednesday everything, as if she were advertising for a high class resort. I just followed them, helping Enid whenever she forgets to mention something.
"You can stop with the sanitized sales pitch, I don't plan on staying here for long." Both Enid and I exchange an confused glance before we looked back at Wednesday.
"Why not " Enid asked, while I was already coming up with possible answers in my mind.
" This was all my parents' idea, oh look, there's my mother smirking at me. They've been looking for any excuse to send me here."
"It's all part of their nefarious, yet obvious plan" Wednesday finishes. Defiance evident in his voice.
"And what plan is that" I inquired, curious to see why he'd hate it here so much.
"To turn me into a version of themselves"
"In that case, perhaps you could clear something up. Rumor's been swirling around that you killed a kid at your old school, and you're parents pulled some strings to get you off." Enid questioned, looking kind of on edge as she she said it.
" Actually, it was two but who's counting?" Wednesday replied nonchalantly. All I could do was look at his with disbelief. A small side of me was slightly impressed. Who the heck kills another student, what is the world did they do to deserve to die. It must have been something inhumane for someone to kill over. At the moment I didn't want to pry on that kind of stuff especially since I barely know Wednesday.
