I woke up to Bella shaking my shoulder, telling me it was time to get ready for school. Maybe my peers in America, may be more friendly than the ones back in Greece. I got dressed, brushed my teeth, fixed my hair, and applied a bit of lip gloss before I ran downstairs to catch up with Bella. I made my presence known as I greeted Bella and Charlie. There was a mystery man with bronze colored hair sitting with them. He turned to greet me and that's when I noticed his piercing golden eyes.
'What is a vampire doing with a human? How is she not dead? Maybe his mate?' I thought to myself. He narrowed his eyes and I shrunk away from his gaze. I snapped out of it and put on a show of confidence, albeit fake confidence. I shook his hand and we headed to his car. I got in the back seat as Bella and Edward conversed outside. Once in the car, Edward pulled out of the driveway and off to the school. We parked as Bella got out and made her way of to a group conversing happily. Edward turned to me before speaking.
"I know you know what I am. Would you possibly like to join my family and I at our house this evening just to explain how you know about us?" I lowered my head and responded.
"I feel like I don't have much of a choice."
"No, not really." I nodded and got out of the car along with Edward. Everyone went as still as Grecian statues. I was pulled into an unexpected hug by a short girl with very short hair. I was unsure of what to do as she was pulled off of me. I thanked him and he nodded as a response.
"Sorry! I am just so excited to see a new face here. My name is Alice. I have a feeling we are going to be great friends!" I smiled at her exuberant energy.
"Geiá sou. It is nice to meet you. I am called Thana."
"Oooh! Are you Greek? I have a few friends that live there. What part of Greece are you from?"
"I am from Akios Nikolaos. A small city, but very... what is the English word. Panemorfi?"
"The word you're looking for is beautiful." A blonde woman spoke, interrupting my thoughts.
"Ah, yes. Sorry. I have trouble with some of the words spoken here." She smiled at me and it was very quiet, but I did hear a few gasps that I would assume be from my peers. I guess she is not one for smiling. I smiled back at her and asked if one of them would be able to show me to my first class. Rosalie, as I just learned, looked over my schedule and spoke.
"So, it looks like you have class with at least one of us at all times. First is American History with me, Trigonometry with Emmett, English with Edward, Gym with Alice and Edward, then lunch. After lunch you have a free period with Jasper, and finally Biology with Emmett and I." The bell rung and I walked with Rosalie to my first class. I shied away from most of the looks and felt overwhelmed with some of the spirits talking to me as well. Rosalie must of noticed as she took my hand and led me to my seat. Rubbing her cold hand in circles around my back, I started to relax. I was unsure why, but I felt comfortable around her the most. The day continued on as each of her siblings passed me around to show me each of my classes. It was nice to converse with each of them. I found that Jasper and I had more in common than I had thought, and it was nice spending time with him in the library during free period. Before I knew it, the last bell rung and I almost dreaded going over to their house. I knew they wouldn't hurt me, but I didn't want my trust to be broken a second time.
