trigger warning: disordered eating behaviours & thoughts
When the school bell rang, Ophelia smoothly grabbed her things and stuffed them into her tote bag. School had been boring like always. The girl did not like to think of herself as intelligent, but she could not comprehend why the teachers were teaching so slowly.
As she left the classroom, she went looking for Allison. The brunette, Scott and Ophelia had planned on meeting up that day to study. Though it was more like Allison's father was suspicious so she had to invite Ophelia too. The small girl did not care in the slightest. She planned on leaving as soon as her ballet class would start.
When she entered the parking lot, she saw Stiles nearly hitting Derek Hale over with his car. Wait, what was Derek doing at their school?
Ophalia quickly ran towards the man and helped him up, though she struggled as he was nearly double her weight.
"I don't need your help", he grumbled, staring at her. And she had to force herself to not look at him horrified. The normally healthy looking man was looking anything but healthy. His eyes were glassy and sweat was pearling from his forehead. He looked as pale as snow and the first thing she said was: "Have you checked your blood levels lately? Especially Vitamine-D and ferrum?" She nearly facepalmed after her statement. Derek was an adult, of course he had checked his blood levels, right?
The man stared at her like he could not believe the girl. "Uh...anyways", she stuttered. "How are you doing? You don't look that good, no offense."
"I'm fine", Derek said through gritted teeth. His eyes flickered weirdly blue in the light. He opened his mouth to add something when Stiles and Scott arrived. They helped her to steady Derek. "What are you doing?", Scott wanted to know. "And why aren't you healing?" Ophelia, being completely lost in her own world, was not even fazed when the word 'healing' was spoken.
"It was a different kind of bullet", Derek stated and brought the girl back into the normal world. "Bullet?" She stared at him horrified. "You don't mean bullet bullet though, right?"
The three stared at Ophelia, having forgotten the girl was still unaware of their secret. "No, of course not a bullet, he was kidding", Stiles blurted out and Ophelia, being as naive as one could be, believed her friend. "Oh, alright. Scotty", she turned to the boy. "Have you seen Allison? She wanted to give me a ride.." Her cheeks were heating up in embarrassment. Of course he hadn't got shot, they were in Beacon Hills after all. Nothing happening there was special. At least until then.
"She's parked there", he answered and pointed towards Allison's car.
"Well, I'll be going. See you soon", the girl replied and quickly hugged her friends. As she didn't want to leave Derek out, she hugged him as well. "Do go to a doctor, just to make sure it's all good, alright?"
Derek rolled his eyes, although he nodded when he saw the worry clouding Ophelia's eyes. "I will", he lied directly into her face. With those words, she scurried away into the direction of Allison's car.

"So, I don't think Mr. Perry wanted his son to commit suicide", Ophelia stated, as soon as they started studying. "Of course he didn't want that", Allison agreed, though Scott still seemed unconvinced. The girls had been trying to analyse 'Dead Poets Society', the reading they were doing in their english and literature class at the moment. Allison and Ophelia had come to the same conclusion, but Scott being Scott could not follow. Ophelia was not even sure if the boy had done the reading.
"But if he didn't want his son to commit suicide, why would he act like that towards him? If a parent acts like that, it's obvious that the child is gonna be mentally unstable."
