Ophelia didn't want to be in this car. She had tried to talk Jackson and Lydia out of it, but they said she needed to socialise after staying at Jackson's for most of the week.
Currently the three of them were sitting in his car, driving to Allison as Scott seemed to have forgotten to pick her up.
"Lydia says we are coming to get you", said Jackson over the phone.
"Please don't. I'm sure he is on his way. He's only twenty-six minutes late", she trailed of. That didn't sound like Scott.
"You hear that?", Lydia chimed in. "First it's 'he's only twenty-six minutes late' a month later it's 'he only hits me when he's drunk'. Slippery slope, Allison. Slippery slope."
"Oh, shush. I'm sure he has a good excuse." Ophelia's voice was soft and Allison was surprised to hear the girl. They hadn't seen each other since Ophelia had been to the hospital.
"It's good to have someone on my side", Allison's voice rang through the car and Ophelia had to smile. Sadly Jackson ruined the moment by butting in: "We are picking you up."
"No", the brunette said firmly, but it was too late. The car had already pulled in her driveway, it was too late. Allison rolled her eyes and got in the back next to Ophelia. "It's great to see you, I really missed you in school."
The small girl wanted to reply, but Allison's phone went off. "Hmm", Lydia spoke up. "Is that him with the best explanation ever of why he is half a freaking hour late?"
"Not exactly."
It turned out that Scott had texted Allison she should come to school and that it was urgent. So they had to change their plans and Jackson drove to school so fast that Ophelia thought she might get sick.
When they arrived Allison and Ophelia quickly got out and made their way to the school doors. "Slow down, O. You have still not completely recovered", Jackson spoke up and put an arm around her shoulder to slow her down. "I'm fine. I just want to make sure Scott is alright."
Shadows seemed to linger everywhere. "You want me to state the obvious?", Jackson asked and looked around bored.
"That it looks like they broke into the school? No, pretty obvious", Allison replied. "I am gonna check it out really quick, be right back." Ophelia wiggled herself out of Jackson arm. "Yeah, well, I'm coming with you."
"No, you are not", demanded Jackson. Ophelia only scoffed. "Well, I am glad it's not in your power to decide what I can or can't do." With that she quickly followed Allison, leaving behind a speechless Jackson.
Once they made it into the school, silence overcame them though soon after they were startled by Allison's phone ringing. She quickly pulled up after saying 'it's Jackson'.
"Hey", she said. A long pause followed where Allison listened to something the boy on the other end was saying. "Okay, give me a second, and we'll be right there." She hang up, but her phone started ringing again.
"Stiles?", Allison asked confused. "Can you put it on speaker?", Ophelia asked and Allison did just that.
"It's me", Scott's voice rang through the phone and Ophelia had to suppress a relieved sigh from escaping her lips. "Where are you?"
"We are at the school looking for you, why weren't you at my place?" Allison's voice wavered, showing just how much he had hurt her.
"We? Who else is there?"
"It's me", Ophelia said and Scott inhaled sharply. "Where are you both right now?"
"On the first floor at the swimming pools."
