it was a nice quiet day in the Avidya forest, collei and her mentor tighnari were ready to set out into the Ashavan realm near the desert to search for some rukkhashava mushrooms and lunar lotus. despite it being a nice day, collei would've rather stayed in gandaraville to sleep since it was quite early in the morning, and she did not want to be disturbed.

"come on collei, we don't have all day you know." says tighnari while shaking her arm slightly to wake her up. "sorry master tighnari, I'm quite sleepy today, i was up all night writing lisa and amber letters, hopefully, they get them in time for the windbloom festival." says collei happily with a huge smile on her face. tighnari notices her face light up whenever she talks about her friends in mondstadt, he knows she loves them very much. "i'm sure they will recieve them in time collei, don't worry. For now, though we need to concentrate on finding the mushrooms." tighnari says to her. "master tighnari do we really need to go this far though? we can find the lunar lotus near gandaraville." collei complains while dragging her feet through the dirt. "yes collei i know, but we can only find the rukkhashava mushrooms here in wet damp climates like the here in the Apam woods." tighnari says to her while hearing her groan behind him.

tighnari and collei continue walking through the forest, hoping to find some of the mushrooms and lotus. after some time, all tighnari could find was a few rukkhashava mushrooms, and collei was growing impatient. "master tighnari, when can we go back? we've been at this for hours and only found a few mushrooms." collei complains again. "if you would please be qui-" Tighnari starts, but trips on a branch sticking out of the ground. before he hits the ground, he's stopped by a weird-looking blue flower shape saving him from falling into the mud. "tighnari are you ok? you almost fell." says a mysterious voice coming from around the corner.

a person with (h/c) hair and piercing (e/c) came running out from the corner, and grabbed tighnari by the shoulders helping him up. "are you ok? you could've gotten hurt?" they say. noticing collei from the corner of their eyes, they wave hello to her. "(y/n)! i've missed you, you said you'd come visit me and master tighnari last month, i was sad you never showed up." says collei with a frown on her face. "oh collei i am so sorry, i was very busy in liyue last month, i met so many new people that wanted to chat with me that i barely have had time to even think." (y/n) says as they hug her tightly. "i was actually on my way home today, i wanted to pick some mushrooms and give these liyue specility's to tighnari for some of his medicines." (y/n) says while pointing to the backpack they were wearing.

tighnari looks at (y/n), and cannot help but stare, they've definitely grown. tighnari notices their bright hydro vision hanging from their hip, and the bow that hung around their back. that must be how they saved me from tripping he thought. He loves how much his childhood friend loves collei, she thinks of them as a big sibling, and it was always an adorable sight to see. "(y/n) you really did not have to go through all that trouble for me, but i appreciate it." tighnari says to them while giving them a hug as well. "oh don't mention it, i missed you and collei! i had to come back sometime soon" they said while releasing tighnari from the hug. "master tighnari, can i go back to gandaraville with (y/n)? i promise i can help you make medicine later, pleaseeee?" collei begged him to let her and (y/n) go back home, but he was hoping to have some help from (y/n) and catch up with them. thankfully (y/n) cut in, "collei, i was hoping to spend some time with tighnari and catch up, plus it looks like he needs more help finding ingredients. how about you go back on your own? think you can manage it?" (y/n) says with a smile. collei huffs, but hands her basket to (y/n), "i guess, but you better promise that right when you two are done, that you come back safely, ok?" collei says while giving (y/n) another hug. "of course collei, don't worry about us, tighnari and i are very strong." (y/n) winks at collei before turning around and waving goodbye to her.

~Time Skip~

tighnari and (y/n) continue looking through the forest for more ingredients but still have found nothing of value. tighnari notices (y/n) getting frustrated with not finding anything, so he takes out the magnifying glass that he always keeps on his person. This was a gift from his mother and always came in handy when searching for smaller ingredients. He brings it over to (y/n) in hopes it will help them find something of use. "here (y/n) try using this, hopefully, you'll find something we can use." he says with a smile and places the magnifying glass in the palm of their hand. "tighnari are you sure? this is your most prized possession, i would never forgive myself if i broke or lost it." (y/n) says while shaking her head. "don't worry (y/n) i'd trust you with my life, my magnifying glass is nothing." he says as he turns around to continue looking for plants and mushrooms. (y/n) held the magnifying glass in their hands and blushed slightly. This thing is so important to him, i must keep it safe, they thought.

Some time has passed now, and it was getting windy and pretty cloudy, (y/n) noticed tighnari constantly fixing and brushing his ears with frustration whenever a slight breeze occurred. "tighnari do you think we should start to head back now? it's getting pretty windy and it looks like it might rain." they said while pointing up at the sky. as predicted, a few drops of rain had fallen on the two and was getting heavier by the second. "quick (y/n) you're right, we should start heading back." tighnari and (y/n) ran and ran, but the rain was just getting worse. suddenly it started thundering, and lightning was striking in every direction. "tighnari look, an aranara house, we can hide out there until the storm passes." (y/n) says while grabbing his hand and running towards the house.

"(y/n) are you sure we are allowed to stay here? aren't aranara very territorial?" tighnari states while inspecting the small hut. "don't worry, the aranara and i are friends, i'll apologize to them when the storm passes." (y/n) lets out a small laugh and proceeds to place their bow down on the tiny table next to them. "if you say so, but still, we need to get back, collei is all alone by herself and i hate leaving her there alone in gandaraville." tighnari states while curled into a ball near the back of the hut. (y/n) walks over to tighnari in the corner and places themself next to him. "tighnari, i've known collei for years, she's a very strong girl, and can hold her own. I'm sure she's safe and sound at home." (y/n) proceeds to pull tighnari into a tight hug, and starts rubbing his ears, which they know reminds him of his mother. doing this would always calm him down, and never failed to make him happy. "thanks (y/n) i really appreciate you being here with me, and helping calm me down. he says while starting to slowly fall asleep in (y/n)'s arms.
