Chapter
1Brat
It's a bright sunny day, people walking down the street living their lives. Restaurants bustling with customers parks filled with kids and dogs. All these option, yet an auburn headed girl was locked away in her room. The girls name: Ariella Zari Fray.
Ariella POV:
Sighing I get up from the bed. Clary should be here any minute so I have to get ready. Since I'm the older sibling I'm supposed to 'take care of her'. Atleast that's what Jocelyn says.
I refuse to call that woman my mother. She acts as if I'm my dad just because I know about him. I'm three years older than Clary which means I know who my father is.
I miss him in all honesty. I've heard of things his done but I can't bring myself to hate him. I have photographic memory.
Sure he had his flaws but he's human and we had good times together. He's the one who taught me to read, how to ride a bike. He taught me how to cook and so much more.
Jocelyn never tried to be there for me and once she ran away taking me with her, she put all her focus on Clary. Hoping for the perfect child.
Ever since then I have been stuck with the job of protecting Clary which has ended up with me being bit, getting cut, almost getting drowned and over all I ended up in the hospital alot.
Now I have to go to some gig Simon has. Simon is Clary's best friend now I don't have a problem with him, he's just... annoying sometimes.
I put on my boots then left my room.
I see Jocelyn hugging Clary and giving her a present. Ignoring them I made my way to the kitchen getting comfortable on a seat at the island.I scrolled through my phone playing games here and there before Jocelyn came in.
"Ariella, you protect Clary with your life. If she gets so much as a scratch-" She takes a deep breath before continuing.
"She's 18 now. She'll start remembering. It's your job to protect her." She says while glaring at me. She took in a breath after I nodded and left.
This always happens, so I get up and go to my room. Getting my bag, shoved a jacket in and grabbed my katana.
My katana is no ordinary katana. It's one of my most prized possessions. It has a steel hilt wrapped in black bandages, the blade is sharp and the best part it has seraph blade shards embedded into it so it kills demons. The best part of it is that it's only a hilt until I activate it. A warlock spelled it for me.
It's loyal to only me.
Making sure I got everything I went out locking my door on my way. Hearing Simon I walked to the kitchen.
Standing to the side I watched as they talked. Luke noticed me and gave me a side hug.
Then we left.
〰️〰️➿〰️〰️
People are boring. Simon and Moreen or whatever her name is, sang then they hanged out in the van which is parked outside Pandemonium, a club.
I was crouched down by the wall across from them watching as Clary painted the van.
Stepping back Clary looked over her work before a blonde bumped into her.
"Hey can you watch were your going?"
"You can see me?" Blonde asked her.
I quickly walked towards them putting Clary behind me. "Back off, now." If Jocelyn finds out I let Clary talk to a shadowhunter she'll be furious.
"Ariella, what the hell." Clary snaps.
"Just go." I repeat. Someone shouted from inside getting the guy's attention.
"What the hell was that?" Clary yells jabbing me in the shoulder.
"Hey, hey. What are you talking about?" Simon asked trying to calm Clary down.
"The way she treated that guy. Unbelievable." She scoffed.
"Clary, what guy?" Simon asked looking concerned.
"The guy running into the club." She pointed out.
"Clary there's nobody there." Moreen say.
"Can you stop making ne feel insane?" Clary mutters looking back at the club entrance.
Huffing she took off her jacket throwing it into the van. "What are you doing?" Simon asked dodging her jacket.
"Going to get some answers." Is all she says before running into the club.
"Clary!" I sigh cursing before running after her. Why is she such a Brat.
