"We're college sweethearts that just met each other again recently and now we're getting ready to move in together...how's that?"
"Simple enough. Ready?"
"Let's go, boyfriend."
"After you, girlfriend."
.....
"We're on the brink of divorce after 3 years of marriage so we're going on a cruise to try to rekindle the flames of our love."
"Wow, where'd you come up with that?"
"An ex-girlfriend read some romance book with that as the plot line. You like?"
"Hmm, it's interesting and it's plausible...good enough for me!"
"Ready wifey?"
"Let's go hubby!"
"Oh, can we stop by the boutique first? I need some new bikinis if we're gonna pull off the vacation vibes."
"Ugh, sure."
"Thanks, hubby! You're the best!"
.....
"You're here on a business trip and I'm just the trophy wife tagging along."
"Divide and conquer?"
"Yep, you take the women and I'll deal with the men. I'll need a new dress to pull this one off."
"...Sure, let's stop by the mall then. I need a suit too."
.....
"We've been together for 13 months, 8 dating and 5 engaged, my favorite color is orange, and we met at a baseball game. Got it?"
"Uh, why 13?"
"The odd number makes it seem more real."
"Got it. Is your favorite color actually orange?"
"It's one of them, a bright orange too. Not like a pastel orange, but electric."
"Ah okay, makes sense," he says eyeing her bright red hair. Bright is definitely her thing.
"Perfect! Now let's go in and act madly in love!"
Pasting on perfect smiles, they looped hands and walked through the doors to the venue.
.....
"Cheers!" Clinking glasses hours later, the unlikely duo are celebrating yet another successful heist.
"Can you believe she actually ordered everything on our register?"
"I still don't know how you managed that one."
"I'm telling you, there's nothing more rich old women want then to one up one another! Once one started to buy things, the others followed!"
"But that toaster was $300, a toaster! Wouldn't you look at that and think it's crazy?"
"Hm, I mean I personally would because I don't even make my own food, but if I had old money like them? I'd snap it up in a heartbeat." April emphasizes this point by snapping her fingers in his face.
Sighing, Saint tells her that even though this is the third or fourth time they've done this, he's still not used to it.
"Well get used to it because we're about to be that rich ourselves. This is just the beginning." To be fair, they're pretty rich already, but this was more about the adrenaline rush - the excitement of scamming people.
"Be honest, did you ever think this would happen?" Her wide blue eyes boring into him. The excitement easy to read and catching onto him too.
Smirking a bit, he said, "No, I can't say I did. I thought you were hot and I wanted to ask you out. But never would have thought we'd be a team scamming people out here."
"Isn't this so much better!" She exclaimed, practically bouncing in her seat. "We're basically like Bonnie and Clyde, except less violent. Wait, you thought I was hot?"
"Yeah," he tells her honestly, no hesitation in admitting it. "I did."
"So, you don't think I'm hot now?"
"Wait, huh, when did I say that?"
"You said you DID think I was hot. That's past tense." She turned towards him fully now, leaning forward to display her cleavage from the low-cut dress she had picked out earlier. "So do you not think I'm hot?"
Rather than answering her right away, he calmly took a drink from his whiskey instead, contemplating how to answer. He couldn't hide his amusement; he'd hit on her fairly bluntly already, what more could he say.
"I didn't say that, April." His eyes smoldering as he turned, leaning closer to her. Fuck it.
Caught off guard by him not fumbling from her pressure, she does instead. Her eyes flicking down to his lips before looking back up into his eyes. "So, you STILL think I'm hot?"
"I think...you're even hotter now than you were before." So close now, his lips brushed hers with each word he spoke. In for a penny, in for a pound. "What are you going to do about it?" He challenged her.
His voice was working against her. Her brain was frazzled and the two glasses of wine she'd had certainly didn't help. But it did give her the courage to do what she normally wouldn't have.
Her lips smacked against his as she gave into the urge to kiss him, tasting the whiskey on his lips.
Not skipping a beat, his hands came to rest around her waist, pulling her as close as the barstools would allow.
With a gasp, she pulled back trying to catch her breath, but his lips only made their way down towards her neck instead. Almost like he couldn't get enough of her, which she actually loved.
"You...wanna...get out of here?" He asked in between kisses.
"Yes, please," she said breathily. "My place?"
"Mhm." His hum sending tingles down her body.
.....
"So, how exactly did you two start dating?" Curtis asked the newly appointed IT couple.
"Yeah! Give us the deets girl," Mari added, eyes gleaming at the thought of new gossip.
"Well, we're kind of like Bonnie and Clyde or whateva," April tells them with a flip of her hair.
"Yeah, we just started out scamming people and it kind of just went from there, ya know," he adds, backing her up.
The smile on her face seeming permanent as she catches Saint's eye while she tells the story, surrounded by some CG members in the cubby.
"And that's how we started dating. Right boyfriend?"
"Sounds about it, girlfriend."
That has a different ring to it when it's real.
