-New Orleans 1864-

Larissa was happily married and thriving in a coven that accepted her. One thing that she missed was her brothers and father attending the wedding. She had written to them in hope that she would hear back but a letter never came. Her father did plan to come but was dead by the time the wedding was happening. Sitting on his desk was an invitation for September 27, 1864. A wedding invitation for Larissa Salvatore and Devon Mason. He was sad that his only daughter was getting married, but he knew that it was the right choice because it's what Lillian would've wanted if she was still here.

-Mystic Falls, 1864-

Stefan had walked into his father's study to see him standing by the fireplace. When Guiseppe turned around, he was shocked to see his son, who should be dead, standing right in front of him. Stefan's face turned and Guiseppe got scared. Lunging at his victim, Stefan completely drained his father of his blood thus completing his transition from human to vampire. He noticed a paper on his deceased father's desk and went to pick it up. He noticed his sister's name and after reading it, he realized that it was a wedding invitation. He folded the paper and slid it into his pants pockets.

Once back at the little shack that Emily Bennett was at, he walked down to the river where Damon sat, still in transition. He didn't want to drink human blood because he just wanted to die a human death. Stefan did force him to transition, and Damon promised him a entirety of misery. Stefan did show Damon the invitation for their sister's wedding and decided to go.

-New Orleans, 1864-

In New Orleans, 2 Mystic Falls officers knocked on the door of Larissa Salvatore. "Yes, officers?" Larissa asked. She was confused because they were from her hometown and now New Orleans. "Are you Larissa Salvatore?" One of the officers asked.

"Yes"

"We come bearing bad news I'm afraid. Your father, Guisepe Salvatore, was found dead in his study in your family home. Your brothers, Damon and Stefan were found shot to death just outside your family home. We're very sorry to give you this bad news." The officer told her. Two days before her wedding and she's getting horrible news. She felt like if she never left then her family would still be alive. "Thank you, officers." With that, she shut the door and started sobbing. Her fiancé came down the stairs and saw her sitting on the floor in front of the door sobbing.

"Sweetheart, what happened?" He asked. "My dad and brothers were found dead. The wedding is tomorrow and now I have no family." He held her till she stopped crying. She got up from his arms and made her way to the bathroom to run a bath. Little did she know, her world was about to turn upside down even more. She was already two months pregnant with their first child which she loved. Her fiancé yelled out that he was going to work and left. While she laid soaking in the tub, she heard the front door open. "Hello. Dev, is that you?" She called out. She slowly got out of the tub and got dressed into a long night gown.

-Larissa's POV-

Relaxing in the tub felt nice. It was stressful hearing that my father and brothers were dead, but I mainly felt sad over my brother's death. My father was a cruel man but no one else could see it. Damon mainly got abused to protect Stefan and I but I hated it. I had often thought about running away but never did. I remember when Katherine Pierce first came to our house and thought that everything would be better because there was another female in the boarding house. A week after she had been here, she somehow convinced my father that I needed to get married. 2 days later, I was in a carriage heading to New Orleans to meet my betrothed. Walking down the stairs, I noticed that the front door was slightly opened. Knowing my boyfriend, he would have completely shut it since my safety is his priority. After shutting the door and locking it, it felt like someone was standing behind me. I quickly turned around to come face to face with my brother. "Stefan... I thought you were dead."

"Technically I am dead you see but since Katherine had given me and Damon her blood, we became vampires. I killed our father and then found an invitation for your wedding. Thought why not, come up here, see you."

"Where's Damon?"

"Who knows. After I made him drink blood, he left town. But I wanted to come see you baby sister."

"I'm a minute older than you Stefan. And you can't be here."

"Where is that beating sound coming from? I've been hearing it since I've come here." I instantly put a hand on her stomach because at that moment, I feared for my life. Stefan noticed this and his face dropped. "You're pregnant?"

"I am. I'm only a month along Stefan. Just let me live because then I can get married and have this baby. The Salvatore name can live on through my child." I told Stefan. I had already talked to my fiancé, and he agreed that we can keep my last name because his last name was too boring. Anh he also had siblings who can carry their last name.

"I'll leave but I'm still going to check up on you. Pregnancy can be rough. Look what it almost did to mom when she was carrying us."

"Did you forget that I'm also a witch right? Emily Bennett gave me a spell book before I came here. And you can thank Katherine for me being here."

"I...I'm sorry okay. We had basically forgotten about you and Katherine used that to her advantage. Just be careful now that you have a child on the way." Stefan told me. He then went out the front door and left me all alone again. My thoughts were racing wild, and I couldn't help but miss Damon too. I wish he came with Stefan to see me, but something tells me that they got into a fight.

Heading to the living room, I grabbed my book off the nightstand and sat down to read it. Looking up at the clock, I realized that I needed to get started on dinner.
