-Mystic Falls-
-Septemeber 9-

History class was always so boring with Mr.Tanner. Today's lesson was on a comet that was going to pass through tomorrow night.

"Originall discovered nearly 5 centuries ago, it hasn;t been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration. Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvartore? Ms. Gilbert?"

"No sir." Both Elena and Stefan replied.

-Boarding House-

When Elena arrived at Stefan's house, she noticed that the front door was open. Walking through the door, she call's out for him. "Stefan? Stefan?" She didn't hear anything and continued walking in the house. Damon had suddenly appeared in front of her. "I... I'm sorry for bargaining in. The door was... Open."

"You must be Elena. I'm Damon, Stefan's brother. And Evelyn's uncle." Elena had a confused look on her face because she doesn't rember her friend telling her about extended family. "He didn't tell me he had a brother nor did Evelyn mention she had an uncle. I thought her mom was an only child?"

"Well, Stefan's not one to brag. Please, come. I'm sure Stefan will be along any second. And Ophelia is an only child. We're her Uncles and Evelyn's great uncles."

"Wow. This is your living room?" Elena looked around the living room and noticed a picture above the fireplace. It was a family portrait. Sat in a loveseat were Nathan and Ophelia. At their feet was Evelyn and Alexander.

"Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction. It's a little kitschy for my taste. I see why my brother's so smitten. It's about time. For a while there, I never thought he'd get over the lst one. Nearly destroyed him."

"The last one?"

Yeah, Katherine, his girlfriend? Oh, you two haven't had the awkward exes conversation yet."

"Nope"

"Oops. Well, I'm sure it'll come up now. Or maybe he didn't want to tell you because he didn't want you to think he was on the rebound. We all know how those relationships end."

-September 10, 2009-

There was a festival tonight in the town square but my parents weren't letting us go. After I almost died last month, mom and dad wanted to keep a closer eye on us. My brother never left my side once after I had come home. I didn't mean to get myself killed. I was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Damon and Stefan were shocked when I had told them that Katherine was the one who killed my grandfather and almost killed me. Walking down the stairs, I see mom in the kitchen making dinner. Dad was sitting on the sofa playing video games with Alex. "Mom, can we please go to the festival tonight? We'll be with Damon, Stefan and Larissa so you know that we'll be safe."

"Honey? Do you hear your daughter right now? She wants to go out after she almost died last week."

"Huh? Oh, no Evelyn, you need to stay in." Dad said. Is he serious? Since I came back, he hasn't really interacted with me. He spends all his time with Alex now. Before, he would spend equal time with us. I know he blames me for his father's death but that was not my fault. Alex can hear him mumble to himself when he's in his office. Says he wishes that he never met my mom.

I look at Alex and give him a look. "Dad? Can I go?" He asked his father.

"Course you can son. Be careful out there." So unfair. Is he serious? I left the kitchen and went to my room. I couldn't stand him right now. I heard a knock on my door. Opening it, I see Alex. He walks in and sits on my bed. "Did you want to come with me to the festival? If not, we can just stay home and watch movies?"
