Dawn's Point of View

The Earth looked as if it was put into a blender. Streets were torn apart and trees were ripped out of the ground. The sky was filled with many unknown colors. What happened? Last I remember I was listening to music on my iPod, walking down the street. Where is my iPod?

Did I just survive a zombie apocalypse? I took another look around. It definitely wasn't a zombie apocalypse judging by how everything was ruined. It was different than anything I ever saw before, no movie would ever be able to come up with effects that comes close to these surroundings. In the distance there was a mysterious smoke rising to the sky. While walking towards it, a familiar voice calls my name.

"Dawn! Thank god you're okay," Aiden says approaching me.

"Of course you out of all people survived, damn it," I sigh, gaining my focus back onto the smoke.

"Hey! Where are you going?"

"To find out what that is," I said, pointing north.

"You don't even know what's over there, Dawn! It could be awfully dangerous, and besides, we should go look for other people," Aiden says staring at me like a puppy. Last he looked at me like this was on his birthday, the day I left. His light brown eyes show concern, I hate when he does this.

"You can do that. I'm going to get answers," I say facing the smoke once again.

Ignore him, Dawn.

"If only you had that kind of commitment when we were together."

"Aiden.. please, this is not the time. Meet me at that funky looking tree when you're done," I said, finally walking away.

As I got closer to the chaos, I could see the cause of the smoke distinctly. An asteroid. Beside it lay three girls, all passed out. The asteroid was black mixed with some type of brown color, unknown like the sky. Determined to get the answers I came for, I stagger closer. My vision became blurry, causing everything to spin.

Just a little more... come on Dawn you can do this, two more steps..
