CHAPTER 11:
We get our life-changing field trip
"That was one of the most underhanded, manipulative, and chaotic maneuvers I've seen in years!" Nikita masi said, her eyes sharp as thorns.
"Very impressive, twerps." she said as she broke into a smile.
"'Twerps'" mused Priya. "With your attitude, it's about time you used that word, Vicky!"
"Not bad, runts." said Nikita masi as we released her. "A few notes though. I'm still supposed to be your teacher after all."
"Oh boy, here comes the 'F'" said Priya. "Forget Vicky, you should've just quoted Crocker!"
"Not an 'F', more like a 'B+'" said Nikita masi. "The plan was executed well, but you still left yourselves open to attack most of the time. You went from captured to launched towards me to flying right in front of me. I could've taken you out at multiple different points."
"But 'cha didn't!" I said. Sorry, I still had vines on my mind. "Lata was busy getting your minions off herself before Priya sniped your wrist."
"Still too much risk to it."
"Why sister," said Sheela masi just walking in. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you care about our nieces and nephew!"
"I've seen you wear overalls to your tea parties, Anjali." she responded, glaring. "I'm pretty sure you don't know better."
"Aww, don't be such a tsundere, masi!" said Priya.
"Don't push it, twerp." She glared harder before turning away towards the balcony. "Anyways, a deal's a deal. You've proven you're capable of coming on missions."
"And I believe you now owe us one life-changing field trip." I said a little smugly.
"Trust me," she said. "With lives like ours, trips like these don't have to be passed out. They'll come to you."
"And we also need a prophecy?" asked Ghata.
"Which is exactly why I came up here!" said Sheela masi excitedly.
"Pretty sure you came up to watch." said Nikita masi.
"That too, but more importantly, I've got one for you." She closed her eyes, breathed, and opened them to reveal they turned an icy blue.
The line between man and beast has been blurred.
Wrath is the form taken by the fifth rank.
Two snakes shall take the flight of birds.
Do not mistake a lion's anger for its strength.
That last line! That was from my dream! I couldn't remember all the details, one of the things I really hated about non-lucid dreams. I followed all the steps, down to keeping a dream journal, but still I have trouble remembering my dreams! I definitely remember that one line, though. But what could it mean?
"Well that's nice," said Priya. "What the hell does that mean?!?"
"I don't know," said Sheela masi. "I just say the prophecies. Rule number one of being a psychic: never interpret what you see."
"What's rule number 2?" I asked.
"Never try to have visions after drinking coffee." she said. "Learned that the hard way."
"Sheela for the last time, that was freaking decaf." said Nikita masi. "You had a headache because you binged Amphibia with Aru for three nights in a row."
