One Fish, Two Fish

Chapter Nine

Midoryia trembled at the sight of his teacher being smashed into the ground over and over again.

"You can erase people's powers." Shigaraki said, "That's irritating, but it's nothing impressive. When faced with true devastating power, you might as well be a quirkless child."

Aizawa shot his head up, his eyes glowing red for a second before the Nomu stomped down hard on his arm, causing him to cry out in pain as he felt it snap.

Shigaraki snickered, "now then." He walked down a few steps towards them. "I'd like you to tell me something." He leaned down till he was face to face with Aizawa. "Where is she?"

Aizawa groaned, "I don't-"

"Nomu."

Aizawa's head smashed into the ground again. Once, twice. Shigaraki clicked his tongue, "now, let's try that again." He scratched his neck, "Where. Is. My. Darling."

"Darling?" Midoryia whispered. "Could he mean..."

Kurogiri materilizaed beside him; "Tomura Shigaraki."

"Kurogiri." He acknowledged, straightening. "Did you manage to kill Thirteen?"

"The rescue hero is out of commission. But there were students I was unable to disperse. And one of them got outside the facility."

"Huh?!" Shigaraki whirled, "Kurogiri...You fool.." He began growling and scratching his neck profusely. "If you weren't our warp gate, I'd tear apart every last atom in your body." He seethed, "there's no way we can win if dozens of pros show up to stop us. It's game over. Back to the title screen. And I was looking forward to finishing this today. Dammit. Did you find her at least?"

Kurogiri swirled, "I couldn't spot her among the students. Which means she's covering her outward appearance. Though, I could sense an extremely powerful presence when I was dispersing them. So it's possible she was scattered around the facility with the others."

Shigaraki huffed, "It will take too long to track her down now. Let's go home."

Mineta cried quietly, gripping Asui's chest, "they're leaving we don't have to fight!"

Asui blanked for a moment before noticing his hand on her chest, "Uh, yeah. But..."

She began pushing him underwater. "I have a bad feeling about this, Midoriya."

He nodded, "it seems weird that they'd retreat at this point, even if help is on the way."

All Might is probably coming. He thought. Don't they want to kill him? They must know UA will beef up their security after this. And what about the girl he's talking about? They won't get a better chance than now. So what's going on here? Why is this game over, huh?

Shigaraki dropped his hands from his neck, "Oh before we leave," He turned around and Midoriya's stomach dropped as the two of them locked eyes. "Let's make sure the Symbol of Peace is broken. Let's wreck his pride."

Shigaraki was in front of them not a second later, his hand reached out toward Asui's face. "Let's make this hurt."

His fingers made contact with her face and nothing happened. No disintegration, nothing. Shigaraki smirked and turned. "You really are so cool... Eraserhead"

Aizawa was staring at him with his eyes red, blood dripping down his forehead and lips. The Nomu smashed his head just as Midoryia made a move from the water, his fist raised to strike Shigaraki. "You! Let her go! Now! SMASH!"

Dust and smoke filled his vision as the power of his smash echoed through the facility, breaking windows and causing waves in the water around them. The dust began to clear and Midoryia's eyes widened as he found his fist in contact with the Nomu.

Midoriya stared in disbelief, "It-It didn't do anything."

"You're pretty powerful," Shigaraki spoke, leaning out from behind the Nomu. "This 'Smash' of yours. Are you one of All Might's disciples? Doesn't matter. I'm done with you now."

The Nomu reached for Midoryia, grabbing his arm and lifting him just as Asui's tongue wrapped around his waist to pull him away.

The front doors smashed inwards in a billow of smoke and debris. Among the smoke, All Might appeared in his hero form. The students broke out in tears as he spoke;

"No fear, my students. For I am here!"

"After all this waiting..." Shigaraki got to his feet, "the heroic piece of trash shows up. Maybe the games not over yet."

Midoryia helped Asui and Mineta carry Aizawa toward the entrance, fear nagging at the back of his mind. I know why he wasn't at training. He was already at his limit today. He shouldn't be using one for all now.

He turned around to look and the color drained from his face. All Might was bent over backward while the Nomu was halfway phased through the floor, holding him in place by digging his nails into All Mights' side.

"Asui.."

"Yeah, what is Midoriya?"

"Will you carry Mr. Aizawa for me?"

"Ribbit? Sure, but what're you going to do?" She slowly took Aizawa from him.

Instead of answering, Midoryia took off running toward All Might. "I'm coming!"

All Might looked up toward him. Midoryia no.

Midoryia ran at full speed and jumped toward them right as Kurogiri materialized in front of him. "How foolish."

An explosion erupted in front of Midoriya with loud screaming; "GET THE HELL OUTTA MY WAY, DEKU."

Bakugo grabbed the metal tube inside Kurogiri and slammed it into the ground hard.

Ice suddenly formed in front of them and covered the Nomu's feet and upper torso. Todoroki stood not too far off. "One of your poorly trained thugs told me you're here because you think you can kill All Might. And that you're here for someone. Who I made sure was left far from you."

Todoroki glared at Shigiraki; "The symbol of peace will not be defeated by delinquents like you. Nor will you be taking someone when I am around. "

All Might managed to pull the Nomu's grip from his bloody sides and launch himself out of it. Landing next to Todoroki.

"Are you okay?" Midoryia asked only for All Might to give him a small thumbs up.

Kirishima yelled as he jumped in from above with his arm ready to chop down, landing right in front of Shigaraki who backed up at the last second. "Damn, that was gonna be cool!"

Bakugo grinned devilishly downwards at Kurogiri, "Guess I found your body that time, ya smoky bastard!"

"Kacchan..everyone.." Midoryia looked around with tears in his eyes. "Wait.." he turned towards Todoroki, "you said you left who he was after somewhere?" Todoroki nodded and Midoriya continued, "so who-"

A voice screamed from above them; "TOMURA!"

A sudden burst of air shot up in front of them toward the ceiling, forcing almost all of them to throw up their hands to avoid being pushed back.

Blue hair flying around wildly, Kokyū landed directly in the center of the air on her tippy-toes. The top of her gym uniform had been torn to expose her arms and stomach fully, leaving her in a sports bra and gym pants.

She brought her arms down and the air fell flat before she brought them up into a fighting stance, palms flat and facing upwards.

"Looking for me?"

All eyes were wide behind her. "K-Kokyū...?" Midoriya mumbled, "you...you..have..."

"What the hell..." Bakugo stared at her, a rare look of surprise on his face. "What..."

Kokyū turned to look over her shoulder at them, giving them all a soft smile. "Don't worry guys. I can handle this."

Though her words were steady, her body wasn't as she shook lightly. She turned again to face Shigaraki, swirling her arms until a small ball of air had formed between them.

Shigaraki grinned wildly. "There you are, my darling. I've missed you."
