Sasha opened her eyes to find herself standing where she had been just a few months ago. The water of the creek was still gone, leaving behind sharp stones and layers of dirt and long grass around her. The other girls weren't with her though. She was alone.

She looked around for any sign of them. The sun was shining brightly in the blue sky and not a cloud was in sight. It wasn't at all cold like it used to be. In fact, Sasha felt as if it might be a little too hot.

"Girls?" She called out for her students and daughter. It was rare now for at least one of them to not be around her. Whether it was training Irene and Amethyst, sharing stories about her old friends with Anetra, or having Kerri and Bosco and Jasmine hanging around her classroom. She always had someone tagging along with her. It felt weird to be alone now.

"Girls?" She called out again, turning her head when hearing whispering coming from the trees on the other side of the dried up creek. It was so faint she couldn't make out the words. Sasha tilted her head, starting to approach the dense forest. Usually she wasn't able to get that far. The creek was the border of where she was able to pass, but today, she was able to cross over it.

She headed into the forest, looking around. It felt darker under the large trees. "Irene?" She called out for her student. "Amethyst?"

The only response was the whispering again. This time it was a little louder, yet she still couldn't make out the words. She walked deeper into the trees, wrapping her arms around herself as the air became colder and the sunlight began to fade. "Is anyone there?" Her own voice sounded echoey and far away.

She walked out into a clearing. The grass was lush and a beautiful shade of green. Birds could be heard singing in the trees, and different butterflies laid on the flowers that dotted the area. It should've felt so peaceful and nice. But Sasha felt so off.

And suddenly, the trees erupted into flames.

Sasha gasped and immediately jumped back. Dark smoke and bright flames surrounded her and flooded her senses, making her cough and squint to be able to see. She went to run back the way she had came, but it was blocked by large flames that seemed to reach out towards her.

But when she looked hard enough, there was also a shadowy figure of a girl.

She stood still with her fists clenched and her head lowered, as if she was ready to fight. Sasha couldn't make out any of her features, but she could feel angry and hateful energy radiating from her.

She shook her head, quickly turning away from the shadow and flames to run in a different direction. But she was stopped by even more fire, and this time, by two more shadowy frames.

They stood hand in hand and were focused forward. Even though Sasha couldn't see any of their features, it felt as if they were looking right through her. Instead of feeling anger and hatred pouring from them, she felt static starting to fill her mind and make everything blur.

Sasha groaned, holding her hand against her head and stumbling back. She fell into the grass, her head rolling back until a horrible pain spread throughout her body. The flames swallowed her, making her let out a painful cry. The whispers echoed in her head.

Sasha's eyes snapped open and she shot up in bed with a gasp. She panted to catch her breath, her heart beating wildly in her chest and her whole body trembling. She felt as if she could still feel flames digging into her skin and hear the static.

She looked around nervously. She was in her bedroom above the library, everything looking normal. Except the one candle she had left burning in the window. She shakily stood up, stumbling over to it and blowing it out. She watched as the smoke danced over the glass of the window before it disappeared entirely. She let out a relieved sigh.
