"Did I go too far today?" Maya questioned over the phone.
"I mean, like it was definitely, like, intense." Anna replied.
"I probably shouldn't have said that about his dad."
"It was definitely crazy, mai. Didn't his dad like, just die?" I said.
"Yeah it was just a fact though." Anna added on.
"Oh wait Na." Maya said. I could hear her get off her bed and slightly stumble.
"Mai?" Me and Anna both asked, not getting an answer. We started to get impatient
"I mean, what are you doing? Maya?" Anna said again. "Maya, are you there?"
"Oh my god." Exclaimed Maya.
"Oh my god what?" I said, slowly growing curious.
"Oh my god!"
"What?"
"Holy f-balls!" Maya said.
____________________________________________________At school, Maya showed up with a paper Shuji gave her. It was a map sort of thing. We followed it early that morning and all it led us to was the boy's bathroom. Mai quickly ran in while me and Anna covered for her. The only thing I could hear in there was scratching. Maya came out shortly, looking visibly upset. I put my arm on Maya's shoulders, Anna doing the same. Then Maya just stopped.
"I can't do this," She said. "I don't wanna face everyone." Tears started to form in her eyes. "I don't want to do seventh grade."
"I'm not doing seventh grade by myself." Anna said, looking down.
"No, it will be a lot easier for you and June now. I mean, like, you guys should go." Maya replied.
"Maya." I said, feeling bad.
"You are my actual rainbow gel pen," Anna said while Maya started to sob. "In a sea of blue and black writing utensils, like I'm not doing this alone."
"Really?" Maya not believing her.
"Yeah! Duh?"
"So we'll do this all together?" Maya asked us both.
"Just one step at a time. Its not like its gonna last forever." I joined in.
"Yeah its not." Anna added. "I'll do it if you guys do it."
"Okay, I'll do it if you guys do it too then." Maya exclaimed and we all went back and forth.
