Harvesting - Rook x M!reader

Your POV:

I walked around my room grabbing three pairs of gloves, a small and large bag, and a box full of tall, medium, and small glass bottles. I placed the box into the large bag and grabbed two smaller boxes and placed them into the small bag. I then stood up and attached both of the bags to my leg and waist. Once done I shoved the pairs of gloves into a small pocket in my pants. I sighed and straightened up. I made my way downstairs, Grim on the couch. "Hey, Grim I'm going out for an hour or two. Please don't make too much trouble for Yuu, ok?"

"Ya ya." I stretched my body before leaving. "I'm off now. Bye!" I opened the door and walked down towards the gate. I opened the gate and closed it behind me and saw Rook out of the corner of my eye.

I turned my head in his direction as he waved at me. "Bonjour, Y/n! Where are you going?" I waved back as he got closer. "Hi, Rook. I'm going to the forest to get some things." He stopped in front of me and his face changed to confusion. "Why not go get it from Sam?"

"Well I would but the things I need are mostly flowers and Sam doesn't have any of them. I also need them fresh and picked in a specific way."

"Hmm...do you mind if I tag along?" I shook my head. "No not at all. I could use the company anyway." I smiled and started walking towards the forest. We talked till we got to the forest. "So what are you looking for?" I gr bed a list out of my pocket and opened it up. "I'm looking around for Helleborus, red spider lilies, honey, tree sap, and a few other things." I spotted most of the flowers on my list and quickly walked over, Rook following behind me. I knelt on my knees and took one of my three boxes out of my larger bag. I opened it up and took out one of the twenty-thin crates and unlocked the hinges.

There was one large bottle, two small bottles, and two medium bottles. I took both of the medium bottles and opened them.

I picked one of the flowers and started to pick it apart carefully. Pulling the part of the petals that were closest to the seeds and putting it into the bottle, then separating the head of the flower from the stem and cutting the stem up, and placing it into the other medium bottle. After I finish that I run my finger over the seeds so they fall out and when they are all out I put them into a small bottle and proceed to put the bottles away. Lastly, I grab the large bottle and put 4-5 of the flowers in it. I did the same thing for the other flowers that I needed.

I could feel Rook watching me as I took each flower apart. "May I ask why you are picking the flower like that Y/n?" I stopped what I was doing for a few seconds to process what he had said. "I'm trying to maintain as much of each part of the flower as possible so I don't waste any of it." He sat down beside me and laid his head on my shoulder while continuing to watch me. My cheeks turned pink.

I had lost track of time as I finally looked at my phone to see what the time was. "It's getting late so we should wrap-" I looked at Rook who was sleeping. I smiled and moved him slowly so as not to wake him up. I then picked him up and made my way back to ramshackle.

My legs ached as I opened the door and closed it behind me. "Yuu, Grim, I'm home..." I said tiredly. I walked into the living room and saw Vil, Yuu, and Epel sitting down. "Oh Y/n your back. And I guess Rook was with you after all." Vil and Epel both sighed. "Well, I suppose he's going to be staying here?" I chuckled. "Ya." Vil and Epel stood up and walked to the door. "Just make sure to tell him to come back in the morning." I nodded. "Bye Y/n."

"Bye Epel." They walked out the door and I started to walk to my room. "I'm going to sleep."

"Ok, good night."

"Night." I went up the stairs and went to my room, putting Rook down on my bed and quickly changing both of us before joining him. I closed my eyes and drifted off.
