6:00 am, Monday December 19th, Chase and Skye's Apartment

Oh Get your kicks, on Route 66!

Chase slammed his hand down onto his Chuck Berry Alarm Clock. He slid onto the edge of the bed, slipped into his slippers and stood up. He yawned and stretched as he walked into the kitchen humming Dolly Parton and poured two cups of coffee, he always drank his black with no sugar and Skye drank hers with creamer in it. "Morning." Chase said, raising his cup. "Morning." Skye yawned as she reached for her coffee. They stood in silence for a bit sipping their coffee until Chase broke the silence, "Can't wait today is the day, I'mma put in my two weeks and then smooth sailing form there." He said making motions with his hand to simulate sailing. "Yeah, I'm doing the same thing. This has been a rough time recently." Skye said thinking about what has happened. "Damn. I can't wait to go back to cleanin' up this shithole, like the good old days." "Yeah It'll be fun, by the way who will be the next chief?" "No clue, I believe that Commissioner Bunt wants it to be Redmond. He is the most qualified and has the most leadership experience." "Then, knowing Anne, she'll pick the most qualified." "Aaaalrighty then, I gotta get ready." Chase said gulping down the rest of his coffee. When he was done in the shower he got dressed and checked the time, 6:25, 'shit I'm gonna be late.' Chase mumbled as he adjusted his tie. He slipped on his suit coat, put his badge in his wallet and stepped back into the kitchen. He poured himself a cup of coffee in his travel mug. "Alright am I forgetting anything?" Chase asked patting himself down. "Keys?" Skye asked, "Got Em'" "Badge?" "Got it" Computer and papers?" "Don't have it thank you." "Alright love you." Skye said. Chase grabbed his briefcase off of their bed. "Love You, bye." Chase said kissing Skye on the cheek.

7:00 am, Monday, Adventure City Police Department

Chase was sitting at his desk signing off on some mission reports from last week when there was a knock at the door. "It's open." Chase said, still looking at the report in front of him. "Chase." Came a strict familiar voice. "Commissioner." Chase said, putting aside his reports. The commissioner was a short but stern woman with long dark hair and dark eyebrows. She sat down and set his two weeks down on his desk. "You're quitting?" He asked. "Yes sir I am. I know you don't watch the news so, I am restarting the Paw Patrol, without the, pardon my language, bullshit from thirteen years ago." Chase said standing up and topping off his travel mug with coffee. He gestured to the commissioner if she wanted coffee. The commissioner raised her hand up short as if to say 'no'. "Chase, I'm going to be honest with you. You are the best police Chief we've had here in my time." The Commissioner said sorrowfully. "Well madam," Chase sat down, "I have worked my ass off for the past 10 years as Chief and now I feel if I can turn my efforts over to a program that will better our bay area and bring forth what previous efforts and time was lost then, Imma take it." Chase explained enthusiastically. "Alright then. You've made your decision. I cannot change your mind, so have a good day, take care." The Commissioner said standing up and walking out. After the door was shut Chase returned to his reports.

5:00 pm, Monday, Chase and Skye's Apartment

"Honey, I'm home!" Shouted Chase as he closed the door behind him. The lights were all off and it was very dark. "Hey baby why the lights off?" Chase asked as he flicked on the lights. When the lights came on Chase saw something he never would believe. Skye was tied up in a chair and Ryder was standing behind her. At this sight Chase immediately grabbed his gun and pointed it at Ryder. "Hello Chase." His dark voice rang in Chase's ear. "You piece of shit scumbag you let her go right the fuck now!" Chase yelled angrily at him, ready to fire. "Ah ah ah," Ryder put a gun to Skye's head, "I wouldn't shoot if I were you. You see when I was pardoned I decided to get back on the strait and narrow. But then I heard you were rebuilding the Paw Patrol, I knew I had to do something." Ryder explained. "What do you want?" Chase said, still angry holding up his gun. "I want a cut, of your revenue, from all of it. 10%." Ryder offered narrowing his gaze. "You're insane, the Paw Patrol is non-profit, you of all people should know this." Chase said. "I know it's non-profit so just, you know, take a little off the top from your grants and donations." When Ryder said this Chase tightened his grip on his gun. He wouldn't become Ryder. "You know what?" Chase asked. "What?" Ryder chuckled. "Go fuck yourself!" Chase shouted as he shot Ryder in the head. He dropped to the ground immediately. Chase ran over to Skye and untied her. "OH MY GOD!" Skye yelled as she hugged Chase and kissed him.

5:30 pm, Monday, Chase and Skye's Apartment

"Alright looks like everything's good to go." Redmond said finishing up writing down Chase's story. "Now you're 100% sure that is how it truly went down? You walked in saw him standing there with a gun to her head and then you shot'em?" Redmond asked motioning what he was saying. "Redmond how the hell do you think it went down?" Chase asked. "I think you're telling the truth." Redmond nodded thanks and then turned around. "Alright boys let's pack it up!" He yelled to the other police men after the body was taken away. "Oh my God, that was the most heart racing experience I have ever been through and I'm goddamned pilot!" Skye said as they walked back into the bedroom. "Yeah well this just proves furthermore that we need the Paw Patrol." Chase said as he turned on the bedroom light. "Yeah thanks again for the chivalry and what not." Skye said with a dainty southern drawl. "Well mam," Chase adjusted his belt and pants and spoke in a southern drawl, "just doin' my duty."
