Kiiiiiiiik!

The train lights shut off suddenly as the subway train shook loudly, metal scraping against metal can be visible heard from inside the cubicle. Screams can be heard throughout the subway.

"AHHH!"

"W-what's happening?!"

"Is it a terrorist attack?!"

As it took a while for the train to stop, people began to calm down, confusion with the sudden stop. A man with pitch black hair and a woman with light brown hair spoke to each other, seeing if one another is alright.

"Hey kid, are you alright?" A woman spoke softly in a monotone voice.

The boy nodded. The woman let go of his shoulder now that the train stopped. Only a couple of words were spoken between the two. A startled voice came over the intercom;

"Ladies and gentlemen, your attention, please..!" The man sounded like he was on the brink of tears. He continued.

"Please, evacuate… Evacuate–!!"

BEEEEP—!

A flash of red light appeared at the front of the subway train.

The monitor let out a long 'beep' as the woman on the hospital bed ripped the heart monitor and I.V. out of her arm. She kicked her legs to the side of her bed, throwing the blanket to the floor. Not a second later, nurses rush in as a doctor followed close behind.

"Ma'am, we need you to lay down! You're not well–!" The nurse says in a panic.

"What happened…?" The [H/C] hair woman spoke.

"We need you to lay down first." The doctor says.

"Fine."

The woman lied back down as a nurse turned off the heart monitor.

"Ms. [Last Name], you appear to have been in an accident…" He held suspense.

"What kind of accident?" She pestered.

"A car accident." He paused, "Although you came out unharmed, just a concussion. You had an episode, and you steered into another car. Fortunately, they came out with just a few bruises."

"Anything else?" Stoic.

"They are suing you for child endangerment for 'purposely' trying to kill her child."

"..."

"Here are the papers of your discharge release. Have a nice day, Ms. [Last Name]." He and the nurses left the room.

[Name] walks out of the hospital with her discharge papers in hand. Pulling out her phone, getting several unimportant emails, and began walking home.

"Hi, dad." I said, closing the door behind me, not looking at his shrine.

Throwing papers onto the counter. I walked over to my father's shrine, got down on my knees, and prayed, clasping my hands together. It has been a few years since my dad passed, and my mother has never been in the picture. Dad died of an unknown sickness and has been in and out of many hospitals, causing a lot of stress for the both of us.
