"High School is like a spork: it's a crappy spoon and a crappy fork, so in the end it's just plain useless."
― John Mayer

"Adelle, darling. Can you stop looking at your phone, for one second. This trip is suppose to be family bonding time." David, my father states.

I roll my eyes and gaze out into the distance, watching the trees fly by. "This is hardly "family bonding time. We aren't even a real family." I snort out.

"Hey, watch your mouth. How many times do I have to tell you?"

"Countless times" I mutter. Taking the headphones out of my pocket, I shove them in my ears and turn the volume up high.
