*William's POV*
Minutes felt like hours as we waited for Aro to return to the land of the living once more, hopefully with a final decision.
Aro's voice finally broke the silence with an entertained laugh as he slowly raised his head, his eyes bright with excitement. "That was fascinating!"
Alice smiled dryly at him. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."
"To see the things that you've seen—especially the ones that haven't happened yet!" He shook his head in wonder and slight awe.
"But that will," she reminded him or reassured him. I can barely tell anymore!
"Yes, yes, it's quite determined. Certainly, there's no issue." Caius looked bitterly disappointed.
A feeling he seemed to share with Felix and Jane based on their expressions.
"Aro..." Caius complained.
"Dear Caius," Aro smiled. "Do not fret, brother. Think of the possibilities! They do not join us today, but we can always hope for the future. Besides, I'm so terribly curious to see how Bella turns out!" Aro seemed convinced.
Wait, did he say Bella? What about me?
"Alice." Everyone turned to look at me, but my heated gaze was focused on the pixie. "Did you just acknowledge that Bella is going to be turned?"
The girl's eyes widened at my calm voice and nodded quietly, taking a subtle step back. "Yes."
I walk closer to her, my hands resting on the lighter in my pocket. "Do not fear me, Alice. I'm not mad." She seems to relax slightly. "I'm not mad, about her turning. I just have a question."
I manage to keep my thoughts off of anything that might concern Edward. I'd hate for him to try and stop me.
I am now standing directly in front of her and I rest my empty hand on her shoulder. "Who did you see turn her?"
"I saw that it would be me or Edward..." My grip tightened to hold her in place.
"See, I don't like that." I pull out my lighter and place it under her gelled hair. "I don't trust you and Bella's boy toy. Last I checked, she was his blood singer, right?"
Her golden eyes widened again as her body seemed to freeze in place. Regardless of the situation, she still answered. "Yes she is, but-"
"How can I trust that he won't kill my sister?" I start to fidget with the lighter, small sparks just disappearing before getting close to her head.
"Surely, we can come to a better agreement?" She is glancing around rapidly. "Perhaps Carlisle?"
I also glance around to see everyone watching. With a sigh, I released her and placed the lighter back into my pocket. "Alright, that would be acceptable."
I then returned to my place in between the twins, Aro watching me pass him with intrigued eyes. I nodded at the man in apologies for interrupting.
He just waves his hand in an 'it's alright' motion and turns back to the group.
"Then we are free to go now?" Edward asked in an even voice, his eyes focused on my relaxed figure with disbelief.
"Yes, yes," Aro said pleasantly. "But please visit again. It's been absolutely enthralling!"
"And we will visit you as well," Caius promised, his eyes suddenly half-closed as if he was tired. "To be sure that you follow through on your side. I would not delay too long. We do not offer second chances." Edward's jaw clenched tight, but he nodded once.
Edward begins to try and lead Bella towards the doors, but it seems that she had other ideas. She pushes past him and looks towards Aro.
"Wait! What about my brother? We can't leave him, right?" Her wide eyes shifted around, gazing at the three kings and me.
"Unfortunately, dear Isabella, your brother's future was not revealed to me. Therefore, he will have to remain here." He looks at her shaking form with pity.
"NO! Alice show him something! Please!" Alice shakes her head and begins to pull her friend back towards the entrance.
Bella struggles continuously as she is removed and her voice grows quieter the further away from the room she gets.
I turn to Aro without betraying any of my emotions. "I'll be back." He nods to me and I also leave the room.
"Bells!" I yelled at her as I caught up to the group. She spins around and dashes towards me.
"Did they already let you go?" She asks me hopefully, tears in the corners of her brown eyes.
"No, I'm still staying." She then buries her head back into my shoulder. "I'm going to call Dad, make sure to remember what I say to him. Alright?"
She releases me and nods while wiping away her tears. I pulled out my phone and dialed Dad's number.
It barely rang twice when he answered in a rushed voice.
'William?'
"Hey Dad, I've got Bella and she's on her way back."
'Oh, thank go- wait. Just her?'
I pull the phone away from my head and take a deep breath before bringing it back and continuing.
"Yeah. While I was here, I took in the view and saw a small house for sale."
'So, you're thinkin' of moving in? What about money?'
"I have money in my savings account and there are many jobs that are hiring!"
'Well, you are an adult now. I can't stop ya. But do me a favor,'
"Yes?"
'Send a postcard or photo now and then? I want to know that you're going to be okay.'
I nod even though he can't see me. "Alright, done. Bye, Dad."
'Bye, kid. Good luck.'
I heard him hang up and face my sister once again, pulling her into another hug. "You remember to text me when you land. Ya got it?"
I feel her nod before I pat her once on her back and step away. "She dies, I'll kill you both. Understand?" I say looking at the Cullens.
They both nod before, once again, pulling Bells away towards the visible exit. I watch them until the door closes behind their backs before walking away.
As I'm nearing the throne room, the stench of blood gets in my nose before I'm even two feet away from the large doors.
I go to open them when a whimper makes itself known. I look around confused and walk over to the empty desk. Another sound comes from the small 'cave'.
I push the chair away and am now having a staring contest with a baby, barely in their toddler years sitting against the wood.
"Ba!"
