I threw all of my notes against the wall with tears in my eyes, the notes didn't matter, as they were all useless. I had worked with dozens of little children in the past and each of them failed me, and I've failed myself. My fist clenched violently, making contact with the desk.

"Hah... Haha..." I breathed out, looking at my now bloodied hand with a psychotic smile. "How disappointing of me. I'm losing my temper again. However, the-"

"Sir!"

"Yes?!" My voice was sharp and edged with an unspoken anger.

"We've found new children. Should we bring them in?"

"Very well, then. Bring them in."

"I looked at the security cameras. I saw a group of three kids, all boys. The tallest boy had glasses and was wearing a school uniform. Actually, all of them were wearing uniforms. The second boy was as tall as the first boy and had a bit of a frown on his face. The third boy was somewhat taller than the second, and he was eating something.

Was that...?

Cheese?

That boy liked cheese so much, that he would bring it here, in a lab. How childish.

Then an idea struck. I decided to walk to my fridge. I quickly grabbed some high-quality cheese and showed it to him as soon as he came through the doors. The boy stared at it awestruck that there could be such wondrous cheese that smelt so incredible. So I slowly put it aside making sure he was still eyeing it. The tall bespectacled boy pulled him back and muttered something along the lines of "Don't jump on that cheese."

"Sorry..." the short boy muttered.

"Mister, do you want some of this cheese? I asked with a fake smile plastered on my lips.

"Of Course, thank you!" he exclaimed with excitement.

"You are certainly welcome," I said, making sure to act happier. "If you want, each of you can have a piece."

"Alright, hey, Xander, Juem! Do you want some?" he asked the other two boys.

"No thank you," they said.

"But thanks for offering, Rafael," the guy named Xander smiled.

"Not a fan?" I asked as the male midget ate the cheese happily.

"No, that cheese just looks suspicious," the two noted.

Smart kids. Little did those other two kids know, I put my new experiment in the cheese before putting it in the fridge.

Then the child who ate the cheese started to flinch a bit.

"Agh, I guess the cheese was a bad call after all. You two were right not to eat it Xander. You too, Juem."

The kid known as Xander stayed silent.

I sighed and walked back to my room, tears reforming in my eyes. Another fail.

"Where are you going?" Juem asked.

"My room, Wait," I said.

"Okay-" then suddenly Rafael hit the ground like a sack of potatoes, brown locks cascading across his face.

Xander and Juem rushed over to him as I walked away. Xander then checked his pulse.

"He's dead."
