Chapter 4-The Past

Flashback

Astra,Adrien and I used to be really good friends.We used to go to the same school,we lived in the same neighbourhood.Life was good until Samya joined our school.She was the popular kid who could match with anyone's vibe but for some reason she couldn't tolerate me and Adrien together.Each time we would talk she started taunting or putting in meaningless comments.I usually avoided those taunts but one day she went too far.That day I remember very clearly.

I skipped school as I felt a little tired from the monotonous routine,I decided to spend some time alone.I was busy doing gardening in the backyard when my phone rang.I looked up to see Adrien calling.A smile immediately appeared on my face.I picked up the ringing phone.

"Hello Adrien"I said a little shyly.

"Hello Rachael"the voice at the other end spoke.

Huh that's a little wierd.Adrien never called me by my full name.Moreover his voice sounded a little bit off.

"What is it Adri?Is something bothering you?"I questioned

"Nope,nothing is bothering me.It's not like I just realized I got played by you"Adrien replied sarcastically.

"You do realize right that you are not making any sense?" What the hell is he even saying.

"Oh please don't act innocent with me.I-I thought you would be different than all those backstabbers."

"What did I even do?" Okay it's official that he has gone totally mad.

"You think I am a worthless right?and that you have using me and guess what I am just a puppet in your hands and worse I have to hear all these from Samya"Adrien continued his voice rising.

I stood there speechless for sometime.I have never even dreamt anything like this let alone saying it.

"How can you believe Samya?"I asked

"I didn't until she played the audio of you saying those things.How could you Rachael?I trusted you with all my secrets and you?you are unbelievable."

"I never said those things Adri.You know me right,I will never say-" 

"SHUT UP.DON'T TRY TO EXPLAIN ANYTHING AND DON'T EVER CONTACT ME."With that the line went dead. I was panicking what did he mean by not contacting him further.Surely he didn't mean anything like this.I tried calling him but it was not reachable.I tried messaging him but none of my messages got delivered.At that moment Astra appeared.

"What happened are you all right?"

I broke down crying."I lost Adrien for something I didn't even do"

I told her everything."I knew something was wierd.That bitch was talking with Adrien the whole day."Astra remarked."Don't worry everything will be okay."she reassured me.

Next day when we went to Adrien's house.We rang the doorbell but instead of Adrien his sister opened the door.She informed us that Adrien had left for the cricket tournament that was to be held at New York city and also got a scholarship in a prestigious school.I looked at Astra.Neither of us knew that he applied for that scholarship.

It hurted a lot.How could he believe Samya over me.Tears swelled up my eyes whenever I thought about it.I missed him so much but there was nothing I could do.Astra supported me a lot.She was the best friend I needed.She helped me come back to normal life and was always there for me.I slowly got used to it with Astra's help but a part of me always missed Adrien.
