When Jiayun came to, he found himself trapped inside his fighter ship.

None of his apparatus were working. The ship's frame was also warped, caging him within.

Worse yet, he realized that he was currently experiencing the pull of gravity.

Perhaps, he had fallen onto some planet after the impact he experienced just now.

The situation was not looking great. The fighter ship would not turn on and there was no water or food inside the cockpit. But oxygen was the most important consideration.

Oh, the oxygen level seemed normal enough, which meant that he didn't pass out for too long. Unfortunately, the reserve would not last for long. He had half an hour at most.

He could exit the cockpit, but being inside a dead zone, this planet was unlikely to have an atmosphere that would allow him to breathe. He would likely die within ten minutes.

He hoped that the battle was coming to an end soon so that his teammates could come and rescue him.

Half an hour had passed and there was no time for Jiayun to sit still. He got up from his chair and banged on the hatch.

He finally managed to crack it open a sliver. Then, with his feet on the stairs, he bent his body forward and pushed open the hatch with all his might.

All he could see was a vast expanse of white fog that seemed to permeate this planet.

The moment his upper half emerged from the ship, he saw a giant monster standing nearby, holding a gun at him with their "hand."

Jiayun slipped back inside the cockpit.

Was it a creature native to this planet? Impossible. There couldn't possibly be any intelligent life in this region.

The only possibility would be that they were the enemy who attacked him, killed his captain, and crashed onto this planet with him.

Jiayun was gasping for breath.

Breathing was not a pleasant experience with the atmosphere on this planet being so humid, but it was at a level still tolerable for him.

He searched blindly around his seat before finally pulling out a handgun he kept under it out of habit. The only one.

He clutched the gun tightly, then crawled out of the hatch again, pointing it at where the monster had been moments ago.

But the monster was no longer there.

He felt something tightening around his neck immediately. A few thick, sticky tentacles wrapped around him from behind and lifted him out of the hatch.

Jiayun had dropped his gun. He struggled furiously, pulling at the tentacle around his neck. Suffocating, he began seeing stars and his head felt like it was about to explode.

The monster loosened the force around his neck mercifully, letting him breathe again. The first thing that entered his lungs was the moist air and it made Jiayun cough violently.

He fought to look behind him, but the monster didn't allow him the chance as they dragged him away from his fighter ship.

One of their 'appendages' picked up his gun while doing so.

There was too big a gap in their speed and power. Jiayun thought that a monster like this ought to be an imbecile, but from the looks of things, he was the real imbecile here.

When the monster tossed him to the ground, Jiayun fought to raise his head, observing the creature from up close.

He had interacted with dozens of species before, but never once had he seen one as hideous as this.
