Chapter 5

Clear sky shown up on the world with the sun slowly rising up as a sign for people to start their new day full with happiness. The atmosphere around the land of down is full of crowd everywhere especially the market, which people open their door and start their work, most of them is a seller.

Late morning, As for the girl who still in her night gown, enjoy her slumber, sleeping peacefully on her bed hugging her fluffy pink doll in a comfortable position. The sun rise through her slide door of the room as her mother open the curtain that made the light shine hit her face. The woman on her 50's age, still, looks so young, as if she's on her 30's age, went to her daughter's bed and shake her shoulder, "wake up, sleepy head! It's 8 now!" While pull the blanket out from her daughter's grip.

Melissa struggle and try to pull back her blanket from her mom's grip, which she did and cover herself in the blanket, continues sleeping.

The old woman frown as she try again by pull her daughter close to her and make Melissa face her. She pinch both Melissa's cheek and caressing it softly. She speaks in calm tone, "c'mon! Your dad is on his way back home now or you want your precious weekend to be ruin by him?" She smiles and move some strain of hair from Melissa's face. It's been so long that she got to check her daughter's pure and gorgeous face this up close. My daughter is always beautiful.

Melissa groan while her eyes still shut, "it's Sunday mom! Sunday, Sunday mommy!" She wined and move away from her mother to cover herself with blanket again. Just once, please ma! She had to admit that she really tired from all those assignment 2 days straight and everything in the world she needs right now is sleep.

Her mother sigh and shaking her head while chuckling, "what were you doing last night that made you stay up late like this? Those online game again?"  Her mother ask.

Melissa turn to face her mother. She looks so tired that her eyelid barely open. She pout and suddenly cling on her mom's embrace which her mom gladly welcome.

Ms. Malis pat her head slowly. She kiss her daughter's hair and mutter slowly, "what happened? What made you end up like this?" And kiss her hair again.

Melissa still buries her face into Ms. Malis's embrace but she point at her table stand.

Some paper work scatter from each other, not in proper place, pencil, eraser, pen... Etc, even the lamp stand is left the light-on over night.

Ms. Malis blink in confusion while looking at the table but she widen her eyes after and look back at her daughter. "Don't tell me you finished those assignment of yours in one night, Mel?" Her mother with surprised tone.

"2 night mom and it's all done now." Still hugging Ms. Malis.

Ms. Malis hit her head a bit, "you dummy daughter! Since when did you let yourself get into this situation? Go and look at the mirror and see your face!" She scold her.

Melissa didn't knows how to respond, so she hug her mom tighter.

Ms. Malis hug her back and sigh, "next time make sure to finish early, don't save it for later. See? How it all went?" She felt Melissa nod slowly so she let her go and face her again, "now, get ready! Breakfast will serve as soon as your father arrived! Don't be late, okay? You wouldn't want him to roast at you, right?" She caress Melissa's hair and smile before she kiss her cheek and went out of her room.

Melissa sit still on her queen size bed, still processing everything. Yawning, stretch her body a little before she got up from bed and walk toward her bathroom. Lazily brushing her teeth. after, she walk into bathtub. She simply change into light purple t-shirt with boba milk tea logo on, short jeans length her knees, no makeup with her silky long hair down freely. (Bro, I'm on my knees by the image of her hair down flash in my head! 🛐)
