(The Day The Stars Aligned)
Celosia was under a large oak tree, her long, messy fur covered in leaves and twigs. She was trying to sleep since she didn't get any sleep the night before, and she was constantly being interrupted by different pokemon sneaking by her to try and eat the acorns on the ground. "Ugh...stop it...stop iiiiiiit..." she said weakly, barely able to lift her head up.
Then she felt something bite her! Celosia quickly sprung up, looking around "That is enough!! Who just bit me?!" She yelled out, frustrated.
Celosia heard a little squeak, and then she felt something crawl under her fur. Something very small...
She sighs and lies back down, closing her eyes back up and trying again to sleep.
A little Joltik crawled out of Cece's fur and climbed up her back onto her head. Since her rough exoskeleton was hard to hold on to, the Joltik couldn't get a grip, and it fell right in front of Celosia, giving her a clear view of the little bug that was biting her.
Celosia opened her eyes, the scar on her eye making her look absolutely terrifying. "Oh? What is this?" She asked, her large, blue eyes staring down into the young Joltik's soul. She didn't mean any harm, but it's difficult not to scare people when you're a giant sun moth...ginormous in this case due to the Joltik's tiny body.
The Joltik looked at Celosia and it immediately started crying, covering its eyes with its legs "Don't hurt me!! M-Mamaaa!!" it called out, shaking from fear. Clearly this Joltik was just a child. Maybe it got lost?
"I am not going to hurt you, small one. Are you lost? I have never seen a Joltik in this part of the forest, especially with all of these bird pokemon around" Celosia asked in a gentle tone, trying to gain the bug's trust.
"N-No...y-yeah? Maybe...I don't know! I don't know where my mama went!" The Joltik answered, still quaking from the fear. He didn't know how to take care of himself. "S-She left while I was sleeping...I must've woke up too late! She left me behind because I'm so slow..."
Celosia's eyes widened. She had flashbacks to her childhood, and when she lost her mother. The old moth couldn't help but feel pity for the child. "Oh...that really is unfortunate..." she said, thinking about what to do.
She remembered what happened after she ran away from home and got lost...she was found by Maxwell and Rufus! She found a new family...and they took care of her.
"If you want, I could take care of you until your mother returns. I can protect you from the birds! A small child such as yourself should not be alone in this unforgiving world" Celosia offered. She wanted to help a person in need, just like how her family did long ago.
"Huh? S...So you're gunna be my new mama?" The Joltik asked, his eyes sparkling full of hope. This giant lady was much nicer than he expected!
Celosia blushes heavily "OH! Umm...uhh...perhaps, but no promises..." she answered, getting a little embarrassed from being called Mama. This was gonna take some getting used to.
"Okay! My name is Star, nice to meet you, auntie!" The joltik says, jumping on Celosia's face and hugging it.
Celosia chuckles "My name is Celosia, though Nichi is a name I also go by." She responds, a comforting warmth aura beginning to form around her. It was strange how quickly this child's opinion towards her changed. Just a moment ago he was terrified...I guess it was just meant to be.
Star climbs over Celosia's head and goes under her fur, yawning "You're very fluffy and warm! Yaaaawn...mgh..." he said, suddenly getting sleepy because of the cozy moth floof.
Celosia found this adorable "Take a nap, little one. At your age, you should get a lot of sleep" she said, her wings glowing brighter. He was so cute...he must be protected!
"Sleep well, dear child. I will be here to protect you, always"
