CHAPTER 02

Joshua: “Brother! Are you not even a little sad that your one and only brother won’t make it to your wedding?”

Jordan: “Why would I be sad about something that’s supposed to be a happy occasion?”

Joshua: “Happy?! You’re heartless! Twenty-seven years, and I’m convinced you’ve been possessed by a witch.”

Jordan: “Why are you making such a big deal over this wedding?”

Lee: “For God's sake, how many times do I have to remind you? Keep your business and personal life separate.”

Joshua: “Oh, Mr. Lee, please do something about him before the bride runs off.”

Jordan: “What are you doing here anyway? Have you finished the task I assigned you?” (turning to Lee)

Lee: “Why the hell is a personal assistant for a big-shot CEO doing laundry?! This is ridiculous! You’ve got some nerve giving me that kind of task!”

Jordan: “You’re my PA, so you do as I say.” (Jordan sips wine nonchalantly)

Lee: “You could’ve asked the maid.”

Jordan: “Like Hell I’d hand my personal clothes to some random maid.”

Lee: “Seriously? Now you’re being fussy about your underwear?”

Wen: (casually walking in) “Wait, so Lee washes your underwear now?”

Lee: “What the–! Who gave you permission to enter?”

Wen: “Why? If the ‘laundry boy’ can waltz in, why can’t I?”

Lee: “You bas–”

Joshua: “Enough! Stop showing this disgraceful side of yours, or the bride will run before we even get to the altar.”

Jordan: “Let her. It’d be best for both of us.”

Wen: “Well, she’s so thin, I doubt she could run far.”

Joshua: (raising an eyebrow) “You saw her?”

Wen: “Yeah, she’s quite pretty.”

Joshua: “Where?”

Wen: “Earlier, in the wedding hall. She’s the total opposite of you. So–”

Jordan: (cutting him off sharply) “Wen, don’t.”

(The room suddenly chills as Jordan’s voice drops. Everyone falls silent.)

Jordan: “You can meddle in anything, but stay the hell away from my fiancée. Got it?”

(The tension hangs thick in the air. Lee clears his throat, trying to break the awkward silence.)

Lee: “Haha, come on, no big deal. Wen just saw her by coincidence.”

Joshua: “Apologize, Wen. Why are you still staring?”

Wen: “My bad, sorry.”

(After a moment…)

Joshua: “Alright, that’s enough. I have to leave now, or I’ll miss my flight.”

Jordan: “Shua, call me when you land.”

Joshua: (dramatically) “Dan! I love you!” (mocking crocodile tears fall)

Jordan: “God, I need to call my manager. Don’t get the wrong idea.”

Joshua: (wiping his fake tears) “You’re so cruel.”

(With that, Joshua leaves the room. Wen follows him, and as they walk down the corridor, Wen speaks.)

IN CORRIDOR :

Wen: “If you can’t handle me just seeing her in a dress, how are you going to cope when your brothe—”(Joshua suddenly grabs Wen by the collar, his grip tight.)

Joshua: “Shut. Up. Or I’ll forget that I ever cared about you.”

Wen: “Go ahead. Kill me if you must. End this charade. You think I didn't caught you ? How you're holding back your emotions on this day .”

(Joshua releases his grip, but Wen leans in, whispering smugly in his ear.)

Wen: “Go on. Be the fool again.”

(Wen smirks as he walks away, leaving Joshua standing there, head down, biting his lip.)

BACK IN THE ROOM :

Lee: “You’re becoming the person you swore you’d never be.”

Jordan: (hurls his wine glass against the floor, the liquid splattering) “Did I ever ask for any of this?!”

Lee: “Neither did she.”

Jordan: “I know! I know she doesn’t want me! No one wants me, and I don’t give a damn anymore!”

Lee: (sighs) “Dan, calm down. I didn’t mean to push you.”

Jordan: “No! I don’t even understand why you’re still here. You could just leave me behind and live your own sweet life. You’ve even got a sister waiting for you.”

Lee: “What I did was my choice, and I’ve never regretted it. All I’m saying is, maybe give this marriage a real chance—”

Jordan: “Stop, Lee! I don’t want to hear that again.”

Lee: (exhaling in frustration) “Alright. Just… behave at the wedding, okay? Don’t be late to your own ceremony.”

(With that, Lee walks out, leaving Jordan lost in deep thought, staring at the shattered glass on the floor.)
