It has been a year since Greg and I fell into the river that took us to the unknown. Many don't believe us when we say that it did happen, and I'm not even sure myself. Greg has been bothering me the past few days to take him trick or treating tonight, and he forced me into my same costume as last year. He as well.

Gregory barges into my room, interrupting my thoughts. He is holding Jason Funderberker in his arms. "Wirt, take me back over the wall." It takes all of my will not to say yes. I want to go, and so does he. We both crave the feeling of being in danger, of being free. But we both also know that it may not of even happened, and we could hurt ourselves going back.

"WIRT! GREGORY!" My mom yells. We both run downstairs, me not even having to answer my half brother's question. When we reach the kitchen, my mom pulls us into a hug. "Hm, wearing the same costumes as last year, eh? Be safe tonight."

We hug her again, and walk out the door, Greg with a pillow case ready for candy. We trick or treat for a few hours, before I tell him that I have to go meet up with some friends at Sara's house.

"I want to go with!" He demands. I have to agree. I can't exactly leave him out here by himself, who knows what he would get up to. We walk to her house, Greg humming 'Potatoes and Molasses.' The memories hurt.

We walk up the steps to Sara's house and she opens the door. "Wirt! You made it!" I smile, but it is fake. Before I can say anything, Greg runs in, through Sara's feet. This year she is dressed as a monkey.

I sit on a couch and look around. The entire grade is here, laughing along. Jason Funderbercker clearly has every girl wrapped around his finger. Except for Sara. Ever since we started dating, she has been super clingy. At first I didn't mind, but now all of my thoughts just lead back to the Unknown. And Beatrice.

Suddenly I hear shouting. Greg was talking to some football players, and I could tell they were getting annoyed. I couldn't take the loud pop music, or the smell of cheep perfume and cologne any more. Sara's friends were not mine. "Come on Greg, we're going."

"Ok!" He laughs. I wave bye to Sara, but before she could ask where I was going, I shut the door behind me. "Greg, we're going back over the wall. Now."
