The incident

There I was minding my own business. Listening to music. Walking. Extending my arms a little and not forcefully. Okay fine I accidentally very forcefully put my arm out in time with the music and... SMACK. I froze in my position and turned my head slowly. I had hit a huge bald guy in the face. Aww crap. I'm so screwed right now. "I'msosososorry" I was speaking so fast that it was just a jumble of random sounds. With that he looked down at the floor next to my feet. I followed his gaze and it was on an open book. Ahhh that was mine. I bent down to pick it up but unfortunately the guy got there first. Oh no. I have all my writing in there. He flipped through a few of the pages, nodded then yanked one of my headphones out. Oh I didn't even realise I still had them in. "You should probably follow me." he grabbed my wrist and began to drag me behind him. What if he's in a gang and he feeds me to his huge dogs. I like dogs, wait... that probably shouldn't be what I'm thinking about at a time like this. I hadn't noticed until now but he was dressed in a suit. Maybe he's in a classy gang. Or a mob boss. So cool.

After a while of weaving through dark alleys and people, I was finally brought in front of a relatively big house. "Uh. May I ask what we're doing here?" My curiosity took over the logical part of my brain. "We are here for your writing." As he said that he waved my book a bit and continued walking to the door. It's finally happening, I'm finally getting noticed for my writing, my book might actually be able to get published. I ran up to the door and it creaked open to reveal a black sofa with a guy sat on it. Oh wow he was... So hot. His arms were fully tattooed and his brown, spiky hair covered one of his light blue eyes. "You can stop staring now." The 'mob boss' spoke up. I didn't even realise I was doing it but I hadn't seen a guy that I actually found attractive in a long time. "I... Uh... I'm s-sorry." Thanks tongue for being completely useless. He didn't even look at me, I must have done something wrong. "I'm mr. Elonpdfg." Baldy said. "Uh yeah I think I'm gonna stick with Boss." I said exactly what I was thinking. Well, not exactly I'm gonna stick with Boss and Baldy. "Whatever." His voice was completely monotone. Well this is fun, isn't it? "Anyway, we want you to write for us." It made my heart buzz just to hear Baldy saying that, I had been trying to publish my book for two years now. "We want your book." As he said that he pulled out a piece of paper with writing on it. "All you have to do is sign this contract." At his words excitement began to overflow my body and it began to feel as if my flesh was made of it. I bounded over and pulled the pen out of his hand to sign the contract. I didn't even read it first. Thus leading to one of the worst things that happened in my life. "So from tomorrow you'll be living here, you might want to bring your stuff from where you live."
"What are you talking about?" They must have been joking. "You are now writing lyrics for us. Well not us, but him." He pointed to the guy on the sofa. He still didn't look at me. "No. You said you wanted my book. The one that I had written in there."
"I was talking about this whole book. Not the one that you want to get published." I can't believe that Baldy here expects me to write lyrics. "I can't write lyri- wait, how did you know I wanted to get my book published."
"You were mumbling about it when you were running to the door."
"And you didn't think to tell me what you were planning?" What the hell was wrong with this guy. Pulling me in to something I didn't want to do. "And you didn't think to read the contract?" Damn. He was good. Too good. "Fine, you got me but come on that is literally like the agreement thingies when you download a game on the computer." Ugh, I hate those things if you read one I'm pretty sure it would take at least a week. "Yes but have any of those made you work for a singer for a year and live in the same house as him?" What? Wait... what is he talking about? "Yes, you heard me right. You are going to be living here so we know you won't run away from the work and this one signature means that you have to work for Del for a year." My head was spinning. This is ridiculous. "Who's Del?"
"Are you really that stupid?" Hey, that was just uncalled for. I glanced over to the guy on the sofa and he was now on his phone. "Yes, him. That's Del. Del is his real name and his stage name is 'singing heart'." Wow what a crap name. "Now that you know our names it would be rude for you not to tell us yours." I don't know what his problem was, my name was on the contract. "Fine, not going to tell me? What I can get out of your signature is 'Tru' so that will be your name from now on." Isn't that great. I now have a new name. So now, apparently, my name is Tru, I live and work with a singer that I have never seen before. Great. Just what I wanted. "Right, so he's a singer? Why don't I know him then?"
"Have you never listened to the top charts? He's been top for three weeks." Oh wow three weeks, I'm so proud. "Unfortunately, I don't have a TV in my apartment and I only have the music that's on my iPod and phone. So that would be a no. Also if he's top of the charts why the hell does he need me to write lyrics for him?"
"He is good at composing music and singing but his lyrics kind of suck." Yeah just like he does. He still hasn't looked at me or said anything. The prick. "Well, fine I guess I'm not getting out of this so I'm gonna go home and pack my stuff." I've never been very stubborn. Probably not great in a situation like this but they had consent even if I didn't mean to give them it. I would never win in court so there was no point in wasting my time. "I'll come and pick you up in the morning and if I don't find you there at ten then all hell will break lose until I find you." There was something about the way he said the last part of the sentence that just put me on edge. Well this was pleasant. I began to walk out of the door when Baldy joined me. "What are you doing, Boss?" I really just wanted to go home. Please let me leave. I was just begging in my head. "I need to come with you so I can find it tomorrow." Oh yeah. "Right. Okay." To start with I had no clue where I was going because he was the one who brought me here. "Would it be possible for you to get me back to where you found me. I actually know how to get home from there." A flash of annoyance crossed his face. "Fine." As much as I hate to admit it, I would have definitely been lost without him. That sounds like a line out of a really cheesy movie but it was literal. We didn't talk at all while we were making our way back to the town centre but as soon as we got there I started mumbling to myself. I couldn't help it. Well I probably could but whatever.

It was beginning to get dark but it was only about six ish. It was in the middle of winter so the days always seemed so short. My body was involuntarily shaking, trying to warm itself up, it really wasn't working. I had a coat on but my hands were so cold that they started to go blue, I shoved them in my pockets but it just seemed to make me shiver more. As my teeth began to clatter together I felt something warm and big land on my shoulders, I whipped my head round to see what it was and Baldy had given me his jacket. "Uh, thanks, Boss." I was starting to warm up already. "You were being irritating so I had to shut you up." Even though he was trying to be mean it just made me smile. I started to walk faster because I was finally realising that I was hungry, I had to do a load of packing and I needed some sleep. My apartment block came into my vision and in no time we were outside it. I took off Baldy's jacket and chucked it to him. "I warmed it up for you." I winked. He just smirked and nodded. "Thanks. I really appreciate it." He wasn't actually that bad. "No problem, Boss." He turned around and headed in the opposite direction.
