The first time she laid her eyes on him, it all felt surreal... as if he was someone who didn't exist in real life. She only just saw him, but this boy was very intriguing already. The shy girl glanced upon him multiple times, taking in his features, just before she was escorted away.

Click. Clack. The only sound heard was shoes hitting the ground.

"... Where are we headed to, mother?", the young girl asked. No older than fifteen, she stared at the woman with bright eyes, full of naivety. "You'll see."

Click. Clack. The walk had been ten minutes, her legs started to ache, before they finally arrived in a room that was dark and unfeeling. The windows were blacked out, and the floor was made up of a reddish-brown colored carpet.

Appearing before them, was a man with pitch black hair and menacing eyes.

"Why, hello there ladies." He greeted them, with a smile on his face. "I assume you're here for the..." The mysterious man's eyes glance at the girl's for a moment. "...trade. Correct?" The woman nodded.

Turning to the young girl, he brings out a hand for her to shake. "Nice to meet you. You may call me Dr. Mori, and it will be a pleasure seeing you around the place..." The girl reluctantly shakes his hand with her own. "...I'm L/n Y/n." She was confused. What did they mean by trade? She turned to her mother for answers.

"Oh... and she's such a lovely girl too... how old are you, if I may ask?" Mori gently held her hand, waiting for her answer.

"Fifteen." The doctor immediately dropped her hand and stepped back, murmuring something about how she isn't young enough.

"Well then, I must thank you for this trade. It's been a struggle finding ability users these days..." Mori shook Y/n's mother's hand, before wiping his own with hand sanitizer. "Yes... I know it's been a struggle, so that's why I offered. Now, about the money arrangement..." the woman trailed off, looking for her end of the bargain.

"Ah yes, the money. You needn't worry, miss. After all... you won't be needing it." A guard appears from behind, and points a gun right to the back of her head. "You didn't really think you'd be able to walk into the Port Mafia's base, and leave just as easily, did you?" Mori stepped closer to the woman, with the girl standing right beside her in shock.

"... Mother?" Y/n whispered, confused from everything happening. "Ah- a child like you shouldn't see something as gruesome as this. Especially since this is your first time witnessing a murder..." Mori placed a hand over the girl's eyes, blinding her from the scene. After that was taken care of, he commanded his order.

"Shoot her."

The helpless girl couldn't see anything, but her sense of hearing heightened. A loud gunshot, right beside her ear, rang for an eternity almost. Then, something wet splattered onto her body, and it smelled disgusting. Y/n felt helpless.

When Mori finally lifted his hand off her eyes, the first thing she saw was the body of her mother, fallen flat on the floor, painted in red. It almost matched the carpet.

"Now... what to do with you?" The doctor looked at her, and frowned. "Girl, I'm not sure if you're aware, but your mother sold you to us for a great sum of money. But that was just a small tactic she used to infiltrate the Port Mafia. Did you know this, girl?" She shook her head.

"We never handed any money to your mother though, so you haven't been sold to us, technically. But... I hear it was just the two of you, hm?"

The girl slowly nodded again, not knowing what to say. What should she have said? Her own mother was killed right in front of her.

"Let me ask you this. Is it true you have an ability?" He peered at her amusingly. "... yes." He grinned.

"Well then... I'll welcome you to the Port Mafia."

"Oh and please remind me- what's your name again?"
