"All right, that's our session done" Kai looked at Marcus as he took off his boxing gloves "I still had a half hour" he said walking up to him. Marcus sighed as he pulled Kai aside.
"Malakai you have been really pushing yourself really hard lately. I get what happened to you a year ago is still stuck inside you somewhere but you got to take it easy" Marcus said to the man.
Kai scoffed as he shook his head "I don't know what you're talking about I'm fine" Marcus narrowed his eyes at the man "go home, get some rest you've been training for hours" he said patting the Anderson man's shoulder as he walked away.
Kai let out a sigh as he walked away and grabbed his towel, heading to the locker rooms.
Marcus had been right. Ever since last years murders in Woodsboro, Kai just didn't feel right. He always had this urge to act out and just fight and that's what always happened. He'd leave a bar with a busted lip and black eye or was found in a ally way beaten up.
Kai had started doing boxing so he could defend himself a lot better and it came in handy when guys started to pick on him. Kai refused to go to therapy stating that they would never get what he went through and would judge him if he was to be totally honest about how he felt. It's just how people were.
Kai had moved to New York with, Sam, Tara, Mindy, and Chad after they all recovered properly just like they said they would. Sam was going to therapy and Mindy, Chad, and Tara were beginning to live the proper teenage life again.
Kai's dreams of playing baseball had gone out the window and his hopes of becoming part of the law were slightly fading too. In New York it was hard to get a job when people knew who you were by just looking at you and recognising you from social media.
After they had all left Woodsboro there had been tweets going around that Sam and Kai were indeed the villains and Richie was an innocent man who's life had been tragically taken from him.
Kai was surprised when he had got a shared apartment with a guy named David. He was a cool guy and didn't believe what the media said about Kai or Sam. It had grown pretty clear to Kai that David had a thing for Sam but he wasn't one who was supposed to care, they weren't dating or anything.
That's right, when the five moved to New York both Kai and Sam agreed they weren't ready for a relationship and said to just keep it as friends although it hadn't lasted very long because 2 months later they found themselves rolling around in the covers together, having showers together and I'm pretty sure you can use your imagination for the rest.
The two agreed they would keep it just as hooking up and keep it secret which if he was honest was sort of frustrating but it seemed to be going well and there was no suspicions even from the group.
Finishing up in the locker room, Kai left the building and made his way back to the apartment kind of hoping David wouldn't be in. I know I said he thought David was a nice guy and I wasn't lying but there was just times were Kai wanted to be alone and listen to music or read a book but David was nearly always at the apartment he could never exactly get the peace he wanted.
