CHAPTER TEN

"Hi, Kai" Kai couldn't find the words. He hadn't seen Kirby in so long. Sam looked between the two confused by Kai's silence "am I missing something here?" Kai looked at Sam.

"Uh, after you left...me and Kirby dated for a while" Sam looked at Kirby who nodded confirming it was true. "It's a long story" Sam didn't know what to say other than feeling the jealousy in the pit of her stomach. Kai noticed and tried to avoid eye contact with the woman.

"You're the FBI?" Sam finally asked and Kirby nodded "you guys know each other?" Detective Bailey asked looking between the four "yeah, we went to Woodsboro High together. She was a senior and I was a freshman" Detective Balileg looked at Kai "and yous two dated?" Kai rolled his eyes "I was kept back a year. It was completely legal when we dated. I'd already turned 18" he confirmed.

"We all share a certain history, yeah" she said referring to Ghostface. "I'm not trying to get into a jurisdictional pissing contest here, I just want to help. I'll show you mine, et cetera" Kirby handed the man the files just a cop came over handing him an evidence bag.

"He left his mask at the bodega. DNA traces two individuals, Charlie Walker, Jill Robert's, both deceased" Kirby nodded taking the bag "Ghostface killers of 2011. Charlie Walker gave me this" Kirby lifted the hem of her shirt showing her scar.

"Asshole" Kirby looked at Kai and nodded with a smile. Sam looked at the interaction feeling her jealousy rise. "Like I said, I take special interest. Is this the mask he was wearing when he attacked you?" Kirby asked the three but they all shook their heads.

"So he's leaving them on purpose".

"Which means whoever's doing this is a student of the killers who came before. Maybe he believes Sam and Kai are the latest in a long line" Kirby looked at the two adults.

"Yeah, good luck with that. We're getting out of town" Sam said looking at Kai and Tara. "Sam we can't...whoever this guy is they are going to keep coming after us wherever we go" Detective Bailey nodded in agreement with Kai.

"He's right plus you three are persons of interest in a double homicide, so you're not allowed to leave town. Sorry" Tara looked at Kai "is he serious?" Kai nodded "it's the law and like I said, if we leave he'll just keeping coming for us" Kirby stepped beside Kai.

"They're both right. But if we work together—". "We're going" Sam interrupted and grabbed Tara's hand shooting a look at Kai before walking away. "I'll talk to them. I'll give you a call after" Kai told Kirby before following out after the two girls.

Kai followed out ignoring the press and pushing through as he seen Sam and Tara talking to Gale. He felt his blood boil but he tried his best to calm down as he watched the interaction and hearing every bit of their conversation before the two sisters hopped into the cab.

"They have a right to be mad" Gale turned around and looked at Kai. "I understand you're doing your job but what you did—writing that book has only caused more trouble in our lives while you get the glory. We're not like you, Gale. I get you went through the Ghostface shit for years but Sam and I are the kids of two of the first Ghostface killers and the things you said in your book didn't help our case at all. I'm all for you wanting to catch this bastard but you have a lot of making up to do too" Kai told the woman.

Gale was relieved that he was calm when he spoke and wasn't shouting and causing a scene. The woman only nodded "I'll call you. I have a few things I need to sort out first".

After a successful conversation with Sam and Tara, Kai had managed to get them to stay making them realise that no matter how far they ran that they would always be followed and tortured until they were dead.
