YanTao (part 2, modern au. angst and fluff)

Yanfei awoke from her sleep, blinking a few times. She lifted her head up just to see a sleeping Hu Tao. Yanfei watched in awe, smiling to herself. She rose from the bed, tucking Hu Tao in. She squirmed a little, but went back to dreaming. Yanfei glared at her arm, a wave of sadness washing over her. She frowned, but walked towards the bathroom. The girl took a toothbrush, putting toothpaste on it and now brushing her teeth. It was her daily routine, that she strictly followed. The girl finished, taking her clothes off to shower. Yanfei stepped in, turning the cold water on. She rinsed herself in the icy water, now shampooing her hair and washing her body. She noticed her lily scented body gel that Hu Tao kept, and decided to use it. She washed her body, rinsed her hair and left the shower. Yanfei dried herself and put on some new clothes. She left the bathroom, Tao was still sleeping. The girl felt a need to tidy the room up, and so she did. Every dish, every cloth and every dust she picked off, and Tao slept through all of it. Fascinating. Yanfei leaned over Hu's face and kissed her forehead in an attempt to wake her up.

''Tao, wake up.''

The girl spoke, shaking Tao gently. Hu groaned lightly, rubbing her eyes. 

''Hnh.. 5 more minutes.'' 

Hu pulled the covers over her head, curling her legs up.

''Tao~ Come on!'' 

Yanfei whined, ripping the covers from Hu Tao.

''I'm up, I'm up, Yanfei! Archons...'' 

Hu sat up and noticed the tidy room. She stared in confusion, till then realising what happened.

''Yanfei, you didin't have to do that..'' 

Hu looked down, feeling guilt. She didn't want Yan to do all her bidding, that would be selfish.

'' I couldn't help myself. Now come on, we'll eat breakfast and talk about yesterday. And before you refuse, Tao, this isn't something you'll run away from easily. I'm a lawyer, after all.'' 

Yanfei reasoned, turning to a cold tone now, Hu shivered and stood up to get breakfast with her friend. They sat at the table, Yan had already made breakfast. Jesus, this girl. She had made pancakes, Hu Tao ate them in total awe. She loved Yanfei's cooking, probaby even adored it. it's like her blossom-pupiled eyes sparkled once again. The girls finished their breakfast and Yanfei took Hu Tao's hand, leading her to the bed, eager to get answers. Hu Tao knew where this was going. Yanfei was on the end of the bed, meanwhile Hu Tao was on the start. An uncomfrotable silence stood upon them, until Yanfei decided to break the silence.

'' Tao, I- ... I didn't mean to yell, yesterday. I'm starting off with this, because I know how hard it can be to open up about.. Self harm. I- .. Tao I'm so sorry..''

Yanfei burst into tears when she began apologising, resting her head on her palms. 

''How could I not see that you were in pain..'' 

The pink-haired girl whimpered to herself, meanwhile Hu Tao stared at her, her eyes wide enough to see stars. 

'' Yanfei- No! No, don't blame yourself. Please. Yanfei I love you too, I can't see you like this, weren't those your words?

''..''

''Come here, you dumbass.''

Hu Tao scooted towards Yanfei, holding her in her arms. Yanfei sobbed into her chest, where have I seen this before.

'' I promise I'll try getting better. Please don't blame yourself, Yan. I love you too. I never got the chance to say it back, Just don't blame yourself, please. I know it hurt you to see me like this, but it's not.. That bad.. Just- Stop worrying about me. I'll be fine.''

'' You deserve help too, you moron! ''

Hu Tao placed her hand on Yanfei's hair, stroking it gently. She carresed Yan's cheek with her unoccupied hand and attempted to calm her down. Of course, it always works. Yanfei turned around, now on Hu's lap, reaching out to hold her hand.

''.. Tao, can I see?..''

Yanfei asked cautiously, holding out Hu's hand extremely gently. Hu Tao stayed silent, her heart rate increasing, Yanfei felt that. Tears welded in Hu's eyes, but she nodded harshly as her bottom lip quivered, attempting to block out a cry. Her throat hurt, you know that pain when you're on the verge of crying and you feel your throat closing? Yeah, that.

'' No, No. If you don't want to, I won't.. Look. I promise,''

'' It's okay..'' Hu Tao spoke quietly, her voice breaking because of the tears. Yanfei placed Hu's arm onto her lap, and gently rolled the sleeve up. A bloody hand with even more bloody bandages showed, some skin torn to the sides of the wounds. Hu Tao let out a sob, gritting her teeth just to keep her shut. Yanfei slowly stood up and held Hu Tao's hand comfortably, leading her to a bathroom. Yanfei sat Hu down on the floor and picked up some cotton balls, disinfectant and water in a cup, also wipes, A lot of wipes. Yanfei straddled Hu Tao's waist and took her hand gently, once again placing it onto her lap. Hu Tao couldn't help but blush, even in this situation. Yanfei was straddling her waist, cleaning her wounds. What a dream.

''..Can i?..' 

Yanfei asked for permission to clean her wounds, Hu's lip quivered, but she nodded anyway, she knew that she needed help. Yanfei took off the bandages, making Hu squeeze her eyes. She stared at the wounds, feeling sorrow. The girl soaked the wipe in water and patted her hand, cleaning the fresh and old blood off her hand. Hu Tao whimpered, her eyes squeezed tight.

'' Please endure it, I won't take long. I'm almost done, Tao.''

She soaked the cotton balls in disinfectant and applied them onto her freshest wounds after the cleaning, making Hu wince and whine in pain.

'' Shh, its okay.'' Yanfei calmed Hu, taking the cotton balls off. She grabbed some bandages and gently wrapped it around her arm, almost perfectly. Yanfei took the other arm, meanwhile Hu admired Fei's bandage. The lawyer rolled the sleeves up on her left arm and took off the bandages, only to be meet with far worse, far more deep cuts. Yan relaxed her body in sorrow, taking more wipes soaked in water. She applied them and took them off as swiftly as she could, wanting the pain for Hu to be over. She took the cotton balls, covered in disinfectant and applied them, Tao sobbed in pain.

'' I'm almost done, Hu.''

She took the cotton balls off and threw the bloody bandages in the trash along with the used papers, now bandaging  Hu's left arm. She cut off the last strand of the bandage, wrapping it around. Yanfei sighed and looked into the crimson-haired girls eyes. Hu Tao got lost into Yanfei's eyes, and cupped her face, kissing her. Yanfei calmly kissed back, deepening the passionate kiss.

'' Thank you, Yanfei.''
