„ BROKEN BEYOND REPAIR „
_____________________________[READER POV]
After seeming like hours passed, even tho its been a minute, i finally let go of the dark hedgehog, holy shit, how long was it ago that i saw him? Shadow looked at me, with a calming expression. I smiled, tears threatened to fall, how come we find each other like this?
We stared at each other for 3 minutes. While those 3 minutes, i noticed some details about him that i didn't remember. His ‚what i remember' wounded chest was gone, like it never existed. His fur seemed more fit and he definitely seemed healthier. Although what was lingering in the back of my mind was, how come no one remembers him, even tho he is standing right in front of me.
Finally letting my mouth drop open, i let those specific words that killed me the entire time out. „Where have you been?" The question must have taken him by surprise since he tensed up for a moment. „I cant exactly tell you that, although i will say that i got away from robotnik." He replied, smiling slightly. I let those words sink in, letting out a sigh of relief.
„How come no one remembers you?" i asked, nervously scratching the back of my neck. But shadow didn't answer, instead, i saw most if my vision blurring white. „Wha..." i started, seeing less and less. The last words i heard were a faint ‚sorry', before i heard the ringing of an clock. Slowly opening my eyes again, i looked around the room to notice im in my house. In that moment, i heard a knock on my door.
Couple seconds passed until i saw Cassidy walk in. „The hell are you doing? We have to go in an hour and you aren't ready?" she yelled. My head was running, hundred of different things were popping up. „Where is shadow?" i finally managed to whisper. Cassidy looked at me confused. „Shadow? Never heard of. Now get ready! The green hills party is starting in an hour! You don't want to be late, do you?" Cassidy replied, crossing her arms.
Now i get it.
I fell asleep while being on my phone, even tho i had to get ready for the green hills party. I sat down on my bed, needing a moment to regain my full consciousness, why did this dream pop up now? „Are you okay?" Cassidy asked, grabbing onto my shoulder. Taking a deep breath, i nodded and stood up, looking at Cassidy for a minute before walking to my closet to pick out an outfit.
„I will be waiting downstairs." Cassidy said, walking out of the room. After i got dressed, i've done quickly my make up and walked downstairs. Then me and Cassidy walked to the car and drove of, arrived and saw many people, drinking in the bar until the fireworks started, it was giving deja vu.
While watching the colorful explosions, i looked around buildings, trying to find shadow like in my dream. But this time, it was reality as i didn't see shadow. Disappointed, i focused my attention back to the fireworks.
I guess im just crazy.
I was so sure, so confident about the fact that shadow still exists, but i was wrong, it was all a dream. There was never a ‚dark hedgehog' or ‚shadow', it was all in my head. For a quick moment i thought about going to a psychiatrist, but i didn't. It was all useless.
After the fireworks ended, me and Cassidy went back inside the bar to grad one final drink and leave. Cassidy said goodbye to her new made friends and walked out with me to her car. „Somethin up?" she asked, mentioning my mood which progressively got worse. „Nothing, im just tired." i replied, not in the mood to look her in the eyes. Cassidy hummed and grabbed onto my shoulder while we walked to her car.
Getting into the car, i let myself fully relax into the seat. While driving back i stared out the window at the night sky, multiple emotions overwhelming me.
He doesn't exist.

I hummed as i stirred around the pot, slowly stirring the soup. I was deep in my mind until i felt two arms wrapping around me. I smiled, knowing who it is. Its my husband.
„Hello there, how was work?" i asked, not bothering to look up as i continued to stir the soup. „Terrible, i have a feeling my boss hates me!" he whined as let his head rest on my shoulder. „Aw, im sure its going to be okay." i assured while turning off the stove. I kissed his cheek and walked away from him, setting the table. „I don't know, im happy i got this job but my boss is so ridiculous and draining." He complained while pouting his lips.
I laughed, placing down the last pair of plates. My husband looked at the plates , confused since we are 4 people, me and my husband plus our two children. Quickly catching on his trailing off, i laughed. „Oh, Alex is bringing a friend of his." i said while going to grab spoons. „Oh yeah? Whats his name?" my husband asked. „No idea, but his parents are coming as well, i heard its an single father." i whispered. My husband nodded, going to grab different drinks.
Couple minutes passed until i heard the doorbell ring. I walked happily over to the door to be greeted with my 2 twins and their friend. „Hello kids, come in!" i greeted in a cheery voice. „Thank you mommy!" my son yelled, putting off his shoes and so did my daughter. Their friend came in as well. He was taller than my twins, black fierce hair and red eyes. Somehow, his looks reminded me of someone, buried deep into my mind. Luckily, my husband came and called the children to the table.
Just as i was about to leave, another rang was heard. Opening the door, i got greeted by the father of the little boy. But the father looked rather weird. He had black hair with red tints, red eyes like his son and he was dark skinned. He smiled and reach out his arm. I greeted him back, shaking his hand slightly. „Hello, im [name] [last name]." i introduced myself. The father smiled brighter.
„Im shadow, pleasant to meet you, ma'am.
