Author's POV:
The week goes by quickly, and Friday comes rolling around. Although Pihu had decided she wouldn't go to Dev's set, the news of the possibility of Dev Kapoor's girlfriend showing up was already all over Instagram.
Pihu knew better than to mess with their media presence. She had to make sure they were a loving and supportive couple in the public. The last thing she wanted was to make Anisha mad with some headline criticizing them.
Seeing that it was already 1 pm, Pihu packs up her things and heads to her car.
At the beach, Pihu is intimidated by all the film crew and equipment that is set up. She is fidgeting with her bag when Dev catches sight of her.
He's absolutely astonished at how she manages to catch his attention amid a crowd of so many people. As he gets closer, the same scent of citrus and vanilla hits his nose. He can't help but smile as he greets her.
"Hey, you made it! Welcome to my set." He gives her a quick hug, making sure the eager paparazzi see.
"It's not like I had a choice." Pihu mutters back to him, making sure she's smiling.
"Hey, I'm not that controlling with my girlfriend." Dev raises his eyebrow.
"So you admit you're controlling?"
"Jo mera hai, woh meri baat toh suna ga na?" Dev can't help but smirk. (What's mine, ought to listen to me.)
Pihu rolls her eyes, as Dev lets out a chuckle. He guides her to a small tent set up with chairs and a coffee table.
"You can sit here and get a perfect view. This is my tent, if you need anything the crew or DJ will get it for you."
Pihu sits down nodding her head. "So I get VIP access huh?"
"You're Dev Kapoor's girlfriend, you get to be treated like a queen."
"Stop saying that!" Pihu snaps back.
"Saying what?" Dev smirks.
"That word. We both know we are pretending." Pihu frowns.
"Girlfriend? Are you scared that by saying it multiple times, it will become real? Or are you hoping it will?" Dev's smirk widens to a full-on smile. Something about teasing Pihu gives him joy and excitement.
"No, I-" Before Pihu can say anything she's cut off by an annoying high-pitched voice.
"Devii, there you are babe. Let's go for our shot." A tall model-looking girl in a brown bikini grabs onto Dev's arm.
The way she says Dev's name irritates Pihu. It's as if she adding 14 extra I's to the end.
"Oh were you talking to a fan? Hi sweetie." The girl fake smiles at Pihu.
"Omg, the audacity of this girl." Pihu thinks to herself.
Before she can say anything, Dev cuts in. "No Shanaya, this Priyanka. A well-known event planner."
"Aww is that so Deviii? So you plan birthday parties?"
"Only the best ones." A voice from behind Dev cuts in. Vyom Gupta, whom Pihu recognizes as Dev's friend makes his way to the group. "Priyanka organizes amazing parties. Remember how you said you loved the Villa Party? That was all Priyanka and her team."
Pihu can't help but smile at this praise.
"Oh, then it's a shame I've never heard of these amazing events." Shanaya says, clinging onto Dev.
"Well, you must've not been invited to any of them. I'll make sure to give you an invite to my next party." Pihu says with a big fat grin.
"I'll see. Let's go give our shot Deviiii." And with that, Shanaya drags Dev away to the cameras.
As Pihu is looking on, Vyom sits down next to her. "Don't mind her. She doesn't know what she's saying half of the time."
"I don't mind her, I just don't get how someone could be so annoying." Pihu responds.
"Oh trust me, I get it. We have to put up with her because she's a producer's daughter. He almost forced us to make her a lead of this movie but we compromised by giving her a song to feature in." Vyom explains.
"Oh, so that's what's going on here?"
"Yep, just a sequence for introducing Dev's character. See he's gonna dance with those girls." Vyom points to 2 other girls, who are also in brown bikinis.
"I see. So he's basically playing himself." Pihu rolls her eyes.
She thinks to herself how Dev is shown to be a romantic soft boy in all his movies but in reality, he's just Mr. Khadoos.
"No, Dev enjoys attention but he would never create problems while dating someone. He may be a playboy but he's not a cheater." Vyom explains as Pihu can't come up with an answer and just nods.
She watches as Dev romances Shanaya on the beach and walks along the shore with her. She looks on as Dev chases her into the ocean and they splash each other with water.
The director yells "CUT" and Dev's eyes instantly go searching for Pihu. He realizes she's staring directly at him.
Apparently, she realizes too as her eyes go wide and she instantly looks away. Dev smiles as he walks out of the ocean to his next scene.
Precap: Dev runs into Pihu's parents and they learn he is her 'boyfriend'.
