The group awake the next morning refreshed, the questions from last night still on their collective minds as they continued on to there destination. Only One question circled Jason "Why did Io expect we would require her help?" This was met with looks of confusion the other instantly thinking the same. This was followed up with another question, "why was the crystal in the abandoned temple anyway?"
This led to Viktor giving his own theory "Maybe it can't be moved?" The group discussed the topic while Maeve had a very different question on her mind.
"I wonder how much it's worth" Maeve quickly asks the group, as she spins round heading back to the temple.
"You can't just steal from the Moon Goddess." Jason is quick to reply turning along with the others to stop her. The group quickly catch up to her trying their best to dissuade Maeve. Once the group reach the forgotten Temple much of the day has been wasted and the sun is slowly setting leading to frustration from Fernando.
"You saw what happened last time you touched it, what do you think will be different this time?" Fernando tries to reason with Maeve, his reasoning falling on deaf ears. The group watch as Maeve once again approaches the crystal This time trying to grab the crescent shape, once again the room fills with light but unlike before the figure of Io does not form. After a few short seconds the glows dies down and a now pleased Maeve looks to the rest of the group.
"See like I told you nothing will happen." Maeve is quickly interrupted as the crystal suddenly starts to fracture and crack, shattering into hundreds of pieces.
"Oh goddess" Jason responds looking at the pile of shards that once made up the crystal.
"What did we tell you Maeve," Viktor scolds the girl "We had no idea what the purpose of that crystal was!"
"What's the worst that can happen?" Maeve retorts almost uncaring, "Guess I'm not selling it." Maeve's question is answered almost instantly, as the distinctive sound of the light bow rings out as a crest-moon shaped projectile strikes Jason, his body instantly dissolving.
A dark cackle echoes around the room. Moments later a second shot is fired hitting Fernando's shield as the attacker steps out of the darkness, the light of the shattered moon favoring them as an almost familiar silhouette is revealed.
Unlike the kind and helpful Io they had met only a few hours before she almost seems twisted, Io's once loving blue eyes, cold and careless. Her white hair now black matching her dress and accessories. This was not Io. This was something evil.
