DEAR SPUTNIK | closed
age: 18-19
male or female
dear sputnik is the youngest in their overachieving family, graduated high school with exceptional grades. their parents expect great things from them, just like their older sibling who they're often compared to in terms of talents and intelligence. their parents only hope they turn out like their sibling. despite enrolling for classes and picking a major, they still don't know what they actually want to do. a part of them wants to please their parents and make them feel proud of them, but the other part just wants to do whatever they want. often lacks confidence, unsure of themselves and finds it hard to make simple decisions. they miss opportunities and chances because they can't make up their mind. they're a little discourteous at first, wanting to appear as though they have everything together and don't need anyone. it doesn't always work though, they forget to act cold and reveal just how awkward they can be, following people around like a lost puppy.
extras
─ majoring in biology, it was what their sibling majored in
─ has an anxiety disorder and anger issues, parents believe its just them rebelling and don't think its an issue though
─ they're very artistic
─ they are participating in the program because they signed up in a rush without realizing what it was

TRUST FUND BABY | closed
age: 20-22
male or female
the first in their family to attend university, their parents pride and joy, the one that will help them stop struggling. they come from a very humble household where money didn't come easy, always worried over bills and money, especially since their parents both had health issues that got in the way of working properly — but even then, they worked their asses off to afford school for their kid. trust fund baby started off very strong, studying and working, taking courses over the summer — they were truly motivated. but somewhere along the way that determination disappeared and all that was left was a body struggling to complete their tasks and keep themselves alive. they are overwhelmed and stressed, wanting to drop out but they can't because they don't want to disappoint their parents or let their hard work go to waste. they were known to be a very helpful individual, someone that always showed kindness and had a great amount of patience — nowadays, they're irritable, pessimistic, and the last thing they want to do is to help others.
extras.
─ humanitarian major [social work, sociology, political science, etc]
─ currently working a part time job, but they are super close to quitting
─ participating in the study as a favor for a friend

TINNITUS (WANNA BE A ROCK) | closed
age: 22-23
male
being an only child, one of his parents expected him to follow in their footsteps. but tinnitus (wanna be a rock) had no interest in whatever his parent wanted them to do, and even though they've expressed it many times, his parent kept pushing him. pressured into a future he doesn't want, he began to act out and developed habits that put his parents to shame. their best solution was to corner him even more, threatening him financially and reminding him who truly had the upper hand. tinnitus (wanna be a rock) is intelligent and extremely observant, he picks up things pretty quickly and he's rarely ever surprised. as much as he tries not to care, he can't let himself fail any classes. he seems approachable, looks friendly enough to ask for his socials but once standing before him, it'll be easy to tell the arrogance and pride he carries. he doesn't take things seriously, finds fun in making people feel inferior and dumb. his playfulness helps disguise the straight up cruelness that leaves his lips, making it seem like some sort of joke. he's honestly tired and feels trapped, and has tried many ways to escape the misery he feels but he always hesitates to actually do anything to help himself.
extras.
─ stem or business major, in his last semester before graduating
─ struggles with substance abuse, the only thing that makes him feel stable
─ parents have some kind of influence in the school
─ only joined the study because he was promised extra credit for an assignment he missed

GROWING PAIN | open
ages: 19-21
female
known to be a bit of a party girl, most of her classmates would be surprised to see her in class on time or in class at all. it always seems like she's on a different wavelength; slow to catch on to the simplest things, easily distracted, constantly asking 'dumb' questions, and it just seems like there's nothing up there. a lot would assume she's in school to pass time, not actually believing someone who spends most of their time partying instead of studying would willingly be in university. growing pain isn't blind to the judgment or assumptions of others, which is one of the reasons she decided to enroll. her own parents thought she was joking when she announced she'd been accepted into the school — she's never been the brightest and she knows that, it's been frustrating having to deal with indirect comments about her intelligence and capabilities. she figured getting a degree would prove her competence, but it's been a real struggle. she has no real self control, easily swayed by people who wouldn't think twice about her, skipping classes because the thought of showing up and making a fool of herself was too scary.
extras.
─ communications major that is currently retaking classes
─ has a learning disorder that she does not acknowledge, finds it embarrassing
─ thought the study was a writing club

ANTI-ROMANTIC | open
age: 21
male or female
they love to be loved, easily falling in and out of relationships. they get swayed easily by pretty words and promises of something better, falling for lies they've been told their whole life. the attention they get isn't necessarily good, several approach them with different intentions, thinking they are easy. oftentimes, they end up becoming the second choice or the person that's just there to entertain. there have been many rumors about them, questioning their lifestyle and their self-respect. anti-romantic is truly sweet, putting others before themselves without hesitation, always giving smiles — even to those who have spoken badly about them. they understand the type of image they might be giving, but they just want to be loved and they don't know any better. they don't think they'll ever find someone better than what they're receiving.
extras.
─ you pick the major, but they were undecided the first two years. they play a sport, known to be pretty good
─ they're the youngest in their family, has a big age gap between them and their siblings

GHOSTING | closed
age: 21-22
male or female
ghosting is someone that people avoid due to their sharp words and cold glares. they are very judgemental and tend to ignore people that try to befriend them, mostly because they're not in school to make friends. they strictly follow the rules, but will be stubborn if it's something they don't agree with. school is very important to them, any free time they have is used towards studying and completing assignments, very rarely they will show up to parties or hangouts. they're unkind deposition often pushes people away, and they know this — they do it on purpose. they have been hurt a lot by their family, making them feel unwanted and like a burden. ghosting is truly just sad underneath all the hostility, afraid to let people in because they don't feel like they are worthy enough.
extras.
─ technology major [cybersecurity, computer science, it, etc.], minoring in something related
─ they're in a frat/sorority known to be full of snobby people
