Y/n pov
Shuri was on my right, Nakia was on her left, and Okoye was on my left, a tear pouring down her cheek. We were now dressed in traditional white attire in honour of our mother for the third time. Y/n blinked with a soft sigh and breathing steadily, putting an arm over Shuri's shoulders to soothe her. The Dora Milaje uncovered and raised Ramona's casket from the ground. M'Baku led the way as they strolled through the woodland.
As we get to the burial mound, he places her there, and M'Baku walks up to Shuri and bows gently.
“Jarbariland offer’s you their comfort for your loss.” He say’s softly but Shuri look’s away and lean’s closer to me.
“Why are you here” I ask him
“ I promised your brother that I would provide you with counsel and protection. But I am I need of your advice today. Your tribe elder’s have approached me with a proposition. They wish to evacuate the city and set up camp in Jarbariland.”
“ So now you are keen to hear from a Child who scoff’s at tradition?” She say’s turning her head to him.
He sigh’s softly before replying “ the world has taken too much for you to still be considered a child. It is in my people’s interest to know which way your heart is leaning.”
“What of your heart?” He say’s pointing to his heart while I remain silent lost in my mind.
“ I just buried the second last person who knew me half of my heart was buried with her and the other half is with Y/n.” He bow’s lightly before walking away leaving me and shuri.
“It will be okay Shuri don't live in the past” I say grabbing her hand and giving it a squeeze.
She smiles back slightly “ ill see you in the dining hall for dinner” she say’s before leaving and probably walking back to her lab.
I walk to the cliff side and sit down at the edge taking a deep breath and letting my tear’s fall. I sit their for a couple of minutes until I hear a twig snap and I swiftly stand and turn around lifting my blade to see Namor I stand immobile. Still pointing the spear at him.
“What do you want” I hiss at him not letting my spear lower from his neck.
Using his index and middle fingers, he moves the tip of the blade and away from him. "Well, you are the only person who could possibly convince the princess to join our side in this war”, he says in a deadpan tone whilst looking at me with a serious expression.
“I think you are wasting your time” I say, placing the spear at my side “That will never happen especially after you have killed the queen, and I would rather die” I say, venom flowing through my words as his eyes harden.
“I could alway’s kill the princess if that’s what you prefer” he say’s rising his eyebrow.
Once again, I draw my spear closer to his neck, drawing blood as I do so. "You will not touch Shuri or I will have a talokanil skin hanging on my wall. I don't care who." I retract my spear from his neck and continue to walk past him, hitting his shoulder as I do so. It doesn't take long for one of the guys on the bridge, I believe it was Attuma, to tackle me to the ground. Attuma holds his axe to my throat while Namor kneels down on one of his knees. "Now, let's try this again.”
I swallow what could go down from the blade being in close proximity to me. “Go..to..hell!” I manage to say but the axe goes little bit deeper and I hiss.
Attuma is distracted as Namor nods and grasps his sceptre and aims it at me, so I twist my knees beneath his and flip him, just in time to kick Namor sending him a few step’s back and I stand.
He regains his footing fast. We stand directly in front of each other. And then I lunged.
Steel met steel.
He barely recovered from his surprise, blocking my spear at the very last second. He returned my attack with a thrust so quick I jumped out of the way. His blade whizzed across the space where my stomach was less than a second ago.
Our blades meet multiple more times.
Namor slashed my side. A tear in the fabric. The sting of blood rushing against skin. I didn’t look down at my wound; my lose of concentration could cost me my life. He swing’s at me and I blocked with a difficult parry, channeling all my strength into action.
Okoye’s voice was in my head telling me what to do just like she did in training. I threw my spear landing in his solder blade. I pull it out with a Sqwelp.
I was getting dizzy from the gash in my side and was losing my footing. My leg’s felt as if they’d collapse at any moment. I stepped back from the fight, balancing my weight on my left foot, The cliffs were very close behind me now. I continued to retreat backward’s as Namor kept advancing. Until I was a foot away from the cliffs edge.
“One last change Y/n.” In response to these words, Namor says, "help us convince Shuri or your death wish will be granted", and Attuma goes to stand next to him. I look directly into there eyes. There eyes are hard.
At this point, I crossed my arms and performed the Wakanda X. As I responded, "Wakanda forever," he lifted his foot and booted me down the cliff. I didn't cry on the way down. I was too exhausted to do so. "I'm sorry, shuri, I won't be able to make it home for dinner," I said quietly, and the last thing I heard was the splash of water drowning out all the noises of the world around me.
