"Hey Mani, did you get the Math homework?" Lauren asked as Normani approached her

Lauren was eagerly shoving books into her locker getting ready to leave school

"Nah, can I just copy yours?" Normani asked cheekily

"Nope. You can't copy but I'll help you with it, as always." Lauren laughed

"Hey! I'm good at some subjects! Like Chemistry!" Normani defended

"Okay let's cut a deal, I tutor you in Math and you tutor me in Chemistry, that way we'll both pass this year." Lauren held out her hand for her best friend to shake it

"Deal." Normani agreed shaking her hand in agreement

"So?" Normani nudged her pointedly as they left the building

"So, what?" Lauren asked playfully as she threw her bag over her shoulder

"You know what! What's the deal with you and Brad?" Normani asked excited, she was as enthusiastic as a 5 year old getting a puppy on Christmas Day

"Calm down already!" Lauren laughed

"Me and Brad are nothing, I don't even like him." She crinkled her nose in distaste of the idea

"Are you sure? I see the way he looks at you Laur." Normani raised an eyebrow suggestively

"Well then it's one sided. I don't like him like that. As far as I'm concerned he's just a guy in my PE class." Lauren shrugged as they finally walked out the gates of hell

"Hey, wait up!" Both girls stopped in their tracks with different reactions

Normani looked at Lauren nervously and Lauren gave an audible sigh and rolled her eyes

"What do you want Dinah?" Lauren asked turning around to face the Polynesian girl

"To walk home with you guys." Dinah laughed nervously

"Since when have you given a fuck about my existence?" Lauren scoffed

"Easy Lo." Normani warned her

"She's just being nice, so what if she wants to walk with us."

"No Mani, she's only here because you're standing here with me."

"Actually I was hoping to introduce you to a friend of mine. You don't mind do you?" Dinah directed at Lauren

"I-Uhm." Lauren stuttered

"That'd be awesome!" Normani accepted the offer for her

"Actually no, I'm sorry but we have to go." Lauren proceeded to drag Normani away from the school gates

"We don't Lauren, we can hang around for a bit to meet them." Normani shrugged

"We already agreed I'd tutor you in Math. And it's Friday, you know what Friday is." Lauren said making an excuse, even though Friday meant nothing to them

"No? Friday is Friday? What's the big deal?" Normani asked hesitantly to which Lauren shook her head

"Like you'd understand." she stormed off angrily, not even seeing the car speeding towards her

"LAUREN!" Dinah called out to warn her but it was too late for Lauren to make a move before the car slammed into her body and she hit the floor

"Lauren wake up!" Normani cried as she watched her best friend laid unconscious on the floor

"Dinah! Call an ambulance!" Normani shrieked as she held Lauren's hand sobbing for her best friend to wake up

Dinah quickly snapped a photo of the number plate and the driver before he sped off and then called an ambulance

"It's gonna be okay Lauren." Dinah ran over to them holding her head still

"Lauren? Like she'd ever be interested in me." Camila waved her friends off

"She's like the hottest girl in school, and she can't take her eyes off you in PE Mila." Ally rebutted with a smirk on her face

"Sure she's pretty hot but she's not gay!" Camila laughed

"You never knooow.." Dinah sang as they walked through the doors outside

"Hey! There she is!" Dinah gasped

"Come on Mila now's your chance!" Ally pushed her towards the girl

"No way! Dinah, Ally stop!" Camila said assertively which surprised them both

"You guys need to chill out! There is no way in hell or heaven I'm going over there." Camila folded her arms

"You live down the same street. How has she never even seen you when you walk to school?" Ally interrogated her

Camila bowed her head looking away from her

"Oh my god you've been avoiding her haven't you!" Dinah laughed

"Camila just go say hi!" Ally urged

"Nope." She refused

"Fine, I'll do it. When I text you meet me over there." Dinah said taking out her cell phone and running over

"Hey, wait up!" She called and Camila shook her head laughing

"Oh damn it, I left my phone in my locker. Can you come with me to get it?" Ally asked Camila

"Sure." She agreed and followed Ally back inside to retrieve her phone

When Ally shut her locker she heard some strange sounds making her furrow her eyebrows in confusion

"Do you hear that?" She asked Camila

"Hear wha- is that sirens?" Camila caught on and meeting Ally's eyes

Both girls rushed out the building to see what had happened pushing through the crowd to the scene

"Oh my god was that Lauren?!" Camila gasped watching her being taken into the ambulance

"Yeah, she didn't see the car coming and she just, got hit. It happened so fast." Dinah gulped holding Normani who was crying her eyes out

"Normani! Did you get hurt?" Ally asked holding the girl at arm's length

"No I'm fine Al but, Lauren-" Normani choked up

"Oh honey." Ally brought her into her arms comfortingly

Ally and Normani were in all the same classes, she knew of Lauren, as did Dinah, but neither of them knew the girl as well as Normani did

"She'll be fine. We'll go to the hospital, all of us and she'll wake up and everything will be fine. You'll see." Camila said unlocking her car

"I'll drive us up there." She offered and the girls all got into the car

When the girls found Lauren they found her sitting up looking spaced out as hell, but you would be confused wouldn't you.

"Hey, I'm Lauren's best friend. Can I see her?" Normani asked the nurse who just came out of her room

"Yes of course. But don't be too surprised." The nurse wandered off

"Surprised? What does that mean?" She asked the other girls who just shrugged at her question

"Hey Lauren." Normani smiled as she walked into the room

"Hey..Mani?" Lauren wondered

"Yeah it's me." She confirmed sitting on the bed carefully

"How do you feel?" She asked taking Lauren's hand

"Get off of me! Who the fuck do you think you are?!" Lauren retracted her hand from Normani's

"I'm your best friend Lauren, you do know that, right?" Normani said shakily

"Yeah, I mean, no. I don't know who you are." Lauren said honestly before pausing

"Should I?"
