TW: Guns and mentions of kidnapping.
Stanley POV:
Stanley awoke in a dark room, but not too dark for him not to see anything. There were a few windows in the high areas of what seemed to be a warehouse. The cold concrete floor Stanley laid on was jagged and uncomfortable. His hands felt tight, and so Stan turned his head, finding his arms tied to his back. He couldn't move his arms from their place, even if he tried. Cold nipped at his fingers and nose as Stanley squirmed in his place, tears streaming down his face.
Help. Someone help me! HELP! Please! Stanley tried to shout, but the lack of a voice stopped him. He continued to cry and attempted to scream until the sound of footsteps stopped him in his tracks. Stanley couldn't determine from which direction the footsteps came from, until he caught eye of the driver of the Uber approaching him. YOU BASTARD! Stanley attempted to shout again, but no words came out.
The Uber driver smirked and let out a sinister chuckle, "Aw.. Poor Stanley.. Don't worry, as soon as we get some money for your sweet, sweet soul, you'll be free." Her cockney accent reverberated off of the high ceiling. Stanley looked around as he had adjusted to the darkness, to see people stood about the skylights, holding long objects. Guns? Or something different? The Uber driver spoke again, drawing Stanley's attention.
"Yes, they're holding guns. Rifles to be exact. Oh! Where are my manners? I'm Sadie. Now, Stanley~" The Uber driver - Sadie - Extended the last syllable of Stanley's name, "I recommend you behave, because if you don't, all my boys around the room will aim for you, and blow your head out. Got it.?"
Stanley slowly nodded, his bottom lip trembling. He could feel the tears pouring down his face.Sadie pulled something out of her pocket, and threw it in front of Stanley. A cereal bar. Was this all that Stanley would be fed? It seemed like it. Stanley looked down at it, and back at Sadie. "Oh! You can't eat it can you? Let me help you."
Stanley was expecting to be untied, but no, Sadie picked up the cereal bar, and tore open the wrapper. She pointed to her own mouth, telling Stanley to open his.Stanley was hesitant, but eventually he opened it. Tears that poured down his puffy face fell into his mouth, and the salty streams ceased to stop. Stanley sat for a second, before Sadie threw the cereal bar into his mouth like a dog with a treat. It was smaller than Stanley was hoping, but he chewed it nonetheless. It was plain, to say the least. No fruits, or sugar even. It tasted salty, to be honest.
Nevertheless, Stanley didn't like it, but he still ate it. He knew that he wouldn't be getting much more. And then Sadie left. Stanley was then left alone in the dimly lit room.
Whilst Sadie was in there, Stan controlled his emotions quite well, even though tears still fell from his eyes. As soon as Sadie left, however, he let all those emotions go. Stanley's bottom lip began to tremble more, and his eyebrows creased together in anger. Tears still streamed down his face like a river as he yelled at himself,
GOD DAMN IT STANLEY. YOU WERE SO UNAWARE THAT THEY WERE TRYING TO KIDNAP YOU, YOU IDIOT. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? No it isn't going to help shouting at myself.. I hope Narrator realises I've been gone for too long now, I need him to find me.. I need him..
Narrator POV:
Narrator continued to follow the advice given to him by the phone operator until he heard a knock on the door. He stood, and Timekeeper and The Curator moved out of the way so he could answer it. As he did, the phone operator ended the call, and two policemen showed their badges.
"Kevin Narrator?" The first one spoke, and Narrator nodded. He moved out of the way so the officers could enter, and the other officer began speaking, "I'm officer Jackson, and this is my partner Sergeant Dwane. We're here to talk about your missing friend..?"
Narrator nodded, catching Curator's eye. It was obvious that the officers couldn't see The Curator or The Timekeeper, as they hadn't pointed out the muddle of floating clocks."W-Would you like to sit down..?" Narrator asked, indicating to the sofa. The police officers sat, and Narrator sat down opposite.
"Well sir, I believe we should start the questions," Sergeant Dwane began, "So his name is Stanley Pierce?"
Narrator nodded, the officer continued, "And you last saw him how many hours ago?""F-Five. Maybe six now.."
Officer Jackson was writing notes on a small notepad, but Narrator couldn't read from the distance. His eyes still stung with unshed tears, clouding the corners of his eyes. Said officer spoke up, "Do you know which store he buys from?"
Narrator shook his head."Well that's where we'll start." Sergeant Dwane spoke. He stood up, "Do you wish to come with us? We will allow it."
Narrator looked up into the eyes of the Sergeant, hopeful, "Yes please." He managed to get out, without sounding to forceful, excited or scared. He then stood up, and showed the officers to the door. Officer Jackson and Sergeant Dwane left the house, leaving Narrator to lock up, leaving Curator and Timekeeper inside. After closing and locking the door, Narrator jumped into the back of the police car, and headed into the city.
*Time Skip*
"God damn it.." Narrator muttered as they walked out of the eighth shop. The officers had shown each manager a picture of Stanley that Narrator had on his phone, and to Narrator's disappointment, Stanley had not been seen or even caught on any surveillance cameras.
Until the ninth shop. It was a medium sized convenience store, on the corner of a block. As the trio entered, they approached a cashier. "Excuse me, ma'am? Apologies for interrupting, this is an emergency. We have a missing man on our case, and we would like to know if he perhaps came and shopped in this store?" Sergeant Dwane showed the cashier the image of Stanley, and the cashiers eyes flickered with shock, before filling with concern.
"Um.. yes.." She began, "He came in here about four-five hours ago.. He waited outside after paying and I'm clueless as to what he did next.."
Yes! Finally, someone had seen Stanley! Narrator felt his heart lift, and his heart begin to beat faster. Before he could think, he was speaking, "Could we see security camera footage? That should show us where he went from there."
The cashier nodded, "Just head to the back of the store. My manager should be back there. Just explain what's going on."Officer Jackson nodded, "Thank you, ma'am."
And the trio headed to the back of the store.
