Stanley POV:
Stanley had passed out on the way to the ambulance on the stretcher. But when he woke up again he was surrounded by men wearing black suits and holding large rifles.
Panic spiked, and instantly, Stanley was thrashing and attempting to scream. The people in black dropped their rifles, and grabbed Stanley, pushing him down into the bed he lay on. "Stanley! Stanley! Calm down! You're safe!" A voice called. Stanley looked to his left and was face to face with one of the men.
Although, the voice didn't match the face of the man, it was feminine. Worlds melded into one as Stanley came to his senses, and he was now faced with paramedics, their faces calm but concerned at the same time.
Stanley's lip began to tremble and tears poured from his eyes once more. One of the paramedics noticed this and came to help. Their touch was comforting as they held Stanley's hand, but it wasn't as comforting as Narrator's touch... Stanley just wanted Narrator..
Narrator POV:
Tension filled the room, flowing over the seems and through the small cracks and dents in the run down walls on the police station. Narrator bounced his leg as he stared at a book he had grabbed from the shelf. He didn't read it, he just stared at it. It was a guide to psychology and the human brain.
Narrator thought about reading it. It could help him understand human emotions better? Or human nature? Yeah. Narrator picked up the book, and began reading.
*Time Skip*
The sun had fully set before Narrator heard commotion outside of the break room. They looked towards the door, and saw probably 4 silhouettes moving as one. Narrator stood up quickly, heading for the door. His hand touched the handle, and he went to turn it and open it, but someone else beat him to it. As the door swung open, Lieutenant Grayham from earlier in the day was stood there, hand still on the handle. "We found him." She spoke quickly, her breathing fast, but controlled.
Narrator could feel the tears welling in his eyes, "C-Can I see him..?"
Grayham nodded, and opened the door far enough that Narrator could slip through. Once he was out in the corridor, the Lieutenant closed the door and ushered for Narrator follow her through the halls.
Narrator could feel his body shake with every step he took, and tears threatened to fall even more than before. Their lip trembled as Lieutenant Grayham indicated to a small room, "Just be careful," She started, "He's still in shock.. And he's only just woken back up whilst in the ambulance."
Narrator sighed contently, "Thank you.. Thank you so much."And Narrator entered the room.
Stanley's head perked up as Narrator shut the door, his eyes filled with fear. Stanley's bottom lip also shook as he realised who he was looking at. Nar-Narrator..? His grip on his shock blanket tightened, making his knuckles go white. Narrator approached slowly, "Yes, Stanley. It's me."
Stanley shuffled back as Narrator came closer. Narrator noticed this, and stopped walking. Their heart wrenched as he watched Stanley break in front of him. Tears stained his cheeks now, and his eyes remained wide, and his hands were shaking as they clenched the blanket around him. Narrator stepped forward again, remembering what the phone operator did, "Stanley, I'm going to have to have you calm down. Come on, breathe with me.."
Stanley looked Narrator dead in the eyes, following his breathing. As Stan did so, his face grew calmer and his hands didn't shake as much. Once calm, Narrator approached Stanley slowly. Stanley had closed his eyes, but was very much still awake. As he felt Narrator get closer, he swayed his body in that direction, hoping he would land.
Narrator stopped as Stanley fell in his direction. He went to grab him and prop him upright again, but missed. Stanley was now half-laying on Narrators chest. "Stanley! Are you alright.?" Narrator asked, concern lacing his tone again. They knew that he wasn't, but they could feel Stanley nod, I'm fine Narrator.. I just.. I want to know you're actually there.. I don't want to be alone anymore..
Narrator felt as though his heart had just broken in two as Stanley shuffled slightly closer for comfort. Instinct took over Narrator, and his arms took their place around Stanley, holding him close. Stanley's face was in view, and it was safe to say he looked traumatised. Something caught Narrator and Stanley's attention though. A spot of water, that landed on Stanley's cheek.
Stanley looked up to Narrator, and his eyes welled with apprehension, Why are you crying Narrator..?
Narrator was crying? He didn't even realise. "Um.. I-I don't know, Stanley.. I guess I'm just happy to have you back.."
Narrator could feel Stanley smile. They were together again..
