OMNISCIENT POV

Ariel woke up yawning and headed to the bathroom to take a hot shower before school. Finishing her hygiene she lotioned herself with coconut oil and added a couple of sprays of body mist on top so that the smell stuck.

She picked out a chill outfit when she heard her phone ringing.

*incoming call Mera 🤞🏽💕 is calling*

"Hey girl wassup" Ariel says
"Girlllllllll I got some shit to tellllllll you"
"Awww shit, what happened"
"Girl guess who spent the night last night?"
"Lamont?"
"What no, guess again"
"Umm......Daiquan from school?"
"Ughh no his dick was trash, it was Cortez..he called and apologized for how everything happened awhile ago. Ian know whether to forgive his ass or not but you know I got a lil weakness for him"
"I don't know Tamera, do you trust him?"
"I never trust a nigga boo, but I missed him"
"Just be careful Mera, I got class so I'll talk to you later"
"Mmkay bye"
*call ends*

Ariel went to her last class and thought about everything Tamera said, she definitely had a bad feeling. She felt like he was using her..she just didn't know in which way or better yet why.

Class was over & she headed home to do some homework. She texted Jayce to see if he wanted to chill today and ofcorse he said come over.

When she got to his place the whole gang was there watching the game, Grizzlies vs Cavaliers were playing and they were hype.

"Hey mama" Jayce said walking up to Ariel kissing her

"Heyyyy" she said back

"Waddup sis" Trey said

"Waddup cuddy" Ariel said back smiling copying the phrase that they call each other

Jamir was sitting on the couch with his hood over his head, he didn't even glance her way. It wasn't unusual for him to be in his own world but she could sense something was definitely wrong with him.

"What you wanna do tonight?" Jayce asked her cupping her face in his hand making her feel all tingly. "Let's just have a movie night, I feel like just chillin tonight" He gave her a slight smile.

"Ima go to Pizza Paperia & get us some pizza and wings" he said as he kissed her forehead

"Wait for me upstairs?" She nodded her head as he grabbed his keys and exited his apartment.

Ariel grabbed her a water from the fridge and went upstairs to Jayce's room, collapsing with her arms wide onto his lush King size bed. She began to think about what could be wrong with Jamir, he seemed distant..more distant than normal. She turned on the tv to Netflix and began searching for a good movie to put on.

*knock knock*

She got up to open the door seeing Jamir standing there with his hoodie still on just staring back at her "Jamir, are you okay?" she asked with concern on her face. "Yea I'm straight, I just came to say wassup. Ian mean to ignore you" She knew something was wrong.

"You wanna talk?" His eyes met hers as he looked relieved and shook his head yes, coming into the room sitting on the bed "Talk to me" she said searching his eyes.

"I just got a lot on my shoulders rn, a nigga stressing fr but I got it, I'm made for this shit" he said looking away from her "Jamir, you don't have to be so strong all the time, it's okay to admit that you're stressed or having a hard time. That's what you have people that care about you for, they're here to help no matter what, you should open up about what's going on" He studied her face for a few seconds taking a deep breath

"it's my mama, she has cancer. I been taking care of her, I've been taking care of everything.." Ariel was instantly flooded with emotions. She uncontrollably jumped forward pulling him into a tight hug. His body was so tense due to the hug being unexpected, he relaxed his body and fully embraced her, slightly squeezing her back so he could feel even closer to her, taking in the smell of the coconut scent coming from her luxurious curls. Hugging her like his life depended on it.
