VISA COUNT: 5 DAYS

-------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a few weeks since Karai had joined the Beach and they haven't even been that happy for her but she didn't complain since she got to play more games. Aguni saw her in multiple games and she was quickly promoted to be his second in command. To his surprise, she didn't really seem to be happy about it. Hatter welcomed a lot of new people, but she didn't really talk to any of them.

Every day was boring. People were partying all day. Exhibitionism had also become a rather regular thing here since everyone was having sex everywhere, not caring about the people that might see them. This behavior was very disgusting to her. She found herself sitting outside on one of the many seats by the pool, drinking a sweet drink and smoking a cigarette. It would have been great if she didn't catch someone staring at her. It was a tall woman with dreads and a strange stick in her mouth. She was eyeing the pack of cigarettes she was holding with a strange look. Karai couldn't take it anymore. She turned around to face the woman.

"If you want one so badly, just ask." She scoffed, visibly irritated. The woman shook her head. "I'm sorry for staring, it's just that...I quit smoking and sometimes it's hard for me to not start again." To her surprise, Karai nodded, hiding the pack of cigarettes and stomping on the one she already had in her hand. "You didn't ha-" She shook her head. "No, I get you." She sighed.

"I used to be a junkie and seeing drugs all over the place makes me nervous as well." The woman with dreads listened to her, then smiled. "So we're similar when it comes to this." She held out her right hand. "I'm Kuina." She introduced herself. Karai stared at the hand for a good while, before she finally accepted it. "Sakamoto." Kuina nodded. She didn't seem to recognize her, good. "Aren't you a militant?" She asked. Karai nodded. "Yeah but I don't shoot people when I'm pissed off." Kuina laughed. "Are you playing a game tonight?" She asked and Karai shook her head. "No, Niragi and Last Boss are on it."

"Then would you join me and another guy tonight?" Karai raised an eyebrow. Which guy was she talking about? She wasn't really paying attention to new people but it's not like he'd be bad company or anything. Besides, she hadn't really socialized with anyone ever since Miyo died. "Uh, sure. Why not?"

A couple of hours later, Karai stood in front of the swimming pool again, waiting for Kuina and whoever she was bringing with her. They were a bit late. Did she get stood up? What a shame. She turned around, ready to leave but then she heard someone calling her name. It was Kuina with two drinks in her hands. "Sorry for being late, I thought I'd get us something to drink while we wait for Chishiya."

Chishiya. Wasn't that the blonde-haired guy that arrived just recently? He was an executive if she wasn't mistaken. So that's the guy Kuina wanted her to meet. Oh well. It's not like she'd care. "Thanks for the thought." She took the drink from Kuina and took a sip from the glass. "Not bad." She commented, making Kuina chuckle. "You sound like a teacher when you talk like that."

"Huh? Do I?" Karai was genuinely taken aback by that statement. "Yep." The two ended up getting another drink and then another one. They were currently gossiping about the people at the Beach, when Kuina snapped her fingers. "Look who finally decided to show up." Karai looked over at whoever Kuina was looking at and spotted Chishiya. "I thought you ditched us." Kuina teased. Karai remained silent. "We had a meeting. Niragi was looking for you." He pointed at Karai. She made a sour face. "Since when do I have to attend executive meetings?" Wait, what? Niragi was looking for her? Why?

"Well, you're a militant. Aguni was praising you for the work you do." Karai sighed. "Got it, I'll show up next time." Kuina eyed the woman. "Wait, Niragi was looking for you? That doesn't sound good." She shrugged. "I'll just ask him later." Both Chishiya and Kuina let that topic go since Karai probably knew what she was doing.

From all that small talk they were making, Karai found out that both Kuina and Chishiya arrived at the same time and they were pretty high when it came to the stupid numbers on the locker key bracelets on their wrists. Karai wasn't listening to them after that. Why was Niragi looking for her? She thought that he decided to ignore her. She hasn't slept for weeks after that, trying to figure out where she'd fuck up. She hated life for doing this to her. Niragi was the only person she had left in this world and now he hated her. It's not like she'd be depressed over it, but it was definitely bugging her.

"Sakamoto? Are you listening?" Kuina shook her gently. "What?" She finally decided to pay attention. Chishiya was looking at her as well. "Repeat the question." He nodded. "Do you like it here?" This question caught her off guard. Did she like it here? Forced to do whatever she was told to do disgusted her. She really hated it here. She found it useless. If only she could've said no that time she met Aguni. "I uh...never really thought about that." She shrugged. "I'm neutral about it." Soon after that, Chishiya left and the two women were left alone.

"Do you want to dance?" Kuina asked her. "Get me a drink first." The two were soon dancing together with another group of people that didn't attend any games that night. Karai had many more drinks, even after Kuina had already left. She walked outside of the bar, bumping into no one else than Niragi. "Look who decided to show up." That ironic voice of his made Karai mad. She looked up. "Spare me." She spoke coldly, making sure that he knows that she doesn't want to talk to him, although she wanted just that. "I.." She took a deep breath. "Ifuckinghateyou, i thought we could get along again because I was behind the bars FOR YOU. Didn't your liiifeee feel better after I left? Huuuuh? All thanks to me..." Her voice broke and that's when he realized that she was drunk.

"You're aaaaall the same." She spoke with tears in her eyes. "You know what, I'm now going to fuck the first man that I see just like YOU do with women, especially when you know that I'm looking." Her words didn't hurt him at all. He knew better than to listen to the words of a drunk person, but listening to what she had to say made him question himself a lot.

"There you go again. You let go of your feelings and think that acting all vulnerable would solve it." He aimed his gun at her, meaning to scare her but the woman didn't move. "Why don't you shoot me, Suguru?" She asked. "Because if you want to do it, I'll let you." She grabbed the gun from the other side and held it still just inches away from her chest. "Remember what I said? I'd let you do anything and I'd still stick with you." He stared at her, a bit disturbed. "Pathetic...bitches like you belong at my feet." He tried, but Karai grinned. It wasn't a honest grin. It was a grin full of spite, anger and disappointment. But still, she managed to stay composed and look him in the eyes.

"I'll always be above all of them." She let go of the gun and walked upstairs, leaving him alone.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Ever since that night, Niragi still tried to avoid Karai, but something about what she said made him feel weird. He was still trying his best to keep on hating her, though it was really hard since they were currently stuck in a meeting and Karai was standing just inches away from him in that stupid, revealing swimsuit. He knew that he didn't need to like her to just fuck her, but he didn't like the idea of someone else doing it as well. After the meeting had ended, Aguni walked towards Karai. "You're playing tonight, so be here in time." He spoke and she nodded. "It's been a while so I can't say I'm surprised anyway." She winked at Aguni and then left. Niragi definitely didn't like it, though he couldn't really complain because he was the one who pushed her away. Was talking to her even worth it?

Night was approaching and Karai was on her way to the lounge to receive a number from Hatter. Once she got it, she exited the hotel building and went to the parking lot to find the car with her number. To her surprise, Chishiya, Aguni and another militant were waiting at the same car. "Looks like we're playing together." Chishiya said, though he was just stating the obvious. "I'll drive." Karai offered. Nobody was arguing with her and so she got into the front seat. She was pretty good at driving. One of the people that watched over the gasoline taught her how to do it and it has been her guilty pleasure ever since.

"So according to this, it's an apartment complex." The other militant spoke up. "Which one? There's a lot of them in Tokyo." Karai started the car and they were soon on their way. "Uh...Toei Sendagaya Apartment." The male read out loud. "Ah."

That was all he got from her. She knew which apartment complex that was. According to the news, a murder occurred there so it was pretty famous. Soon, she parked the car a bit further from the apartment and the four then reached their destination by feet. "I'll act on my own from now on." Karai told the other three. "I refuse to obey anyone's commands since I dislike to be ordered around." Aguni made a simple gesture with his head, meaning that she got his approval.

One thing about the woman amused him. She was a militant, therefore a violent person that didn't hesitate to kill in order to get out of a tough situation. But there was always something more to her. Like she wanted to talk things out first and resort to violence only when there wasn't any other option. That was a quality that Hatter's executives had and it didn't match the militants at all. Then again, knowing the executives, they wouldn't accept Karai for her peculiar past. She was someone that didn't fit into any group. She grabbed one of the smartphones on the table and stepped over the registration line. Chishiya was the first to follow her.

Karai looked around, noticing many other participants. Chishiya used the electricity to listen to music. She sighed. If only she had thought about it before, she could've done the same thing. Maybe he'll share an earbud with her if she asked nicely? The again, the thought of asking Chishiya to lend her an earbud was strange to her and so she decided to pass on this opportunity. Better think about it next time. Looking around some more, she noticed two participants. One of them had a shaggy haircut and a very bad posture. Probably a computer freak. The other one was a bit taller, with blonde hair and he looked to be rather sporty. Probably the type to fight people to show himself off. The shaggy guy was talking to an average looking guy with a blue cap. The blonde guy suddenly told his companion something that made him stop talking and turn away.

The cap guy turned around and saw that she was looking and so he walked up to her. "Um...excuse me, where did everyone go? What's this?" She sighed and pointed at the smartphone in his hand. "When you'll receive a notification, read the instructions carefully and do what it says. Otherwise you're dead." After she said that, she turned her back on him, a visible sign that she didn't want to talk more.

The same annoying tune from all the smartphones echoed through the apartment complex. Here it comes. Karai took a deep breath. Let it be something good.

"Registration has now closed. There are a total of fourteen participants. The game will now commence."
