Chp-28

A/N: The next chapter is the last chapter of the book.

"Ashely Winters!" Our principal said in the mic. I clapped my hands and cheered as Ashely walked across the stage to get her diploma.

"William Winters!" I walked across the stage and took my diploma. As I walked down the steps I heard my mother standing up and cheering with Logan beside her. I would really be happy, but Devon is still in jail waiting for his trail.

"Devon White!" When I heard his name my heart ached.

~Flashback~

I ran into the police station and went to the desk. "Hello, um y'all took in a guy named Devon White."

The lady typed something in the computer. "Yes, are you over 18?"

I shook my head. "But if his uncle comes in, can I go in with him?"

She nod. "Yes, as long the uncle gives you permission."

"Okay, thank you." I walked out the building and took out my phone. I walked to the car to see Ashely knocked out in the drivers seat. I opened the passenger side door and got in.

"What happened?" She asked while looking at me through her sun glasses.

"I have to be at least 18 to see him or wait for his uncle to arrive." I typed in Tyrese number.

"How did he even get in jail? What did he do?"

I put the phone to my ear. "Its a long story. Just know Anthony is a bitch."

"Hello." Tyrese said on the other line.

"Tyrese, its William. Devon is in jail."

"I know, I'm on my way with our lawyer."

"Okay, good. I'll see you when you arrive, I'm already here."

"Aight." he hanged up the phone. I shoved my phone in my pocket and took a deep breath.

"Everything is going to be okay William. Relax."

I shook my head. "I can't relax. Devon is probably going to spend 5-10 years and jail for what he did. Why is it that every guy I fall in love with, they always leave or cheat on me? Devon is good for me, he's the only guy that really loved me. Now he's going to prison." I broke down in my hands.

Ashely tried her best to comfort me, but it was not working. Devon is going to prison, he knew this would happen.

It feels like this is my fault. Whatever happened, feels like it's all my fault..

~Flashback over~

"Im so proud of you baby." my mom said as she gave me a hug.

"Thanks."

She kissed my cheeks. "Everything is okay William."

I sighed. "Can we leave now?"

"You don't want to say bye to your friends?"

I shook my head. "I'll talk to them tonight. I don't want to be late to the trail."

She nod. "Okay, let's go."

We walked through the crowd of happy families and graduates to get to our car. I took off the robe and cap and got in the back seat of the car.

The whole ride there was nerve recking. What if he does get 10 years? Will the judge be easy on him because he's a minor? Will he get off with community service?

All those questions went through my head as I walked in the court room.

"Court dismissed." the judge hit the panel.

"No no no." I quickly maneuvered around the people to walk to the front to see Devon being dragged away.
Tyrese came to my side and pulled me into a hug. "How long?" I asked.

He pulled away. "6 years."

"Can I see them? Before they take him away."

He nod. "Yes. You can follow me."

We walked out the court room and into another room where I saw Devon in hand cuffs. I ran to him and gave him a kiss and hug. "Why did you give me the wrong time?"

"I didn't want you here when they took my away. How was graduation?"

I huffed. "I don't want to talk about that." I buried myself more into his chest and started to cry.

"Hey, stop crying." he pulled me at arms length.

"I'm coming back. Im just not coming back right away. But you'll see me again."

I wiped my tears. "I don't want you to go. I want you to stay here with me and be with your family. Its all my fault."

"Why is it your fault? You didn't do anything wrong."

"I should have never pushed Anthony into sending the video."

He sighed. "William, it's not your fault. Don't think that it's your fault because of you do, it'll eat you alive. I love you, just remember that."

"I love you too." I kissed his lips before backing away from him so Tyrese can have a chance with him.

I walked out the room wiping my tears away. I walked out the court house and to my mom car where they waited for me. I got in the back seat with out saying a word as Logan drove off.

"I'm sorry William." my mother said.

I banged on his front door constantly until he answered it. "Why the fuck you banging on my door like that?!" He yelled.

"You bitch! You sent the video, even when I begged you not to. Devon is in jail because of you. 6 years in prison. My happiness is gone because of you."

Anthony tried to pull me in a hug but I pushed him away. "I'm so sorry."

"No you're not." I snapped. "You wanted this so much, thinking that I will he back with you. Well news flash, I'm not going to even share a glance with you. You're nothing to me, now. You're just another bitch with a dick so small that you have to blackmail someone to get some ego."

"William-" he stepped closer to me but I punched him square in the nose. He held his nose and screamed in agony as I saw blood drip out his hand. "You broke my nose." he said.

"You're so lucky that's the only thing I broke." I stepped on his foot and stormed to my car. I got in, turned on my engine and drove off to the direction of my home.

I actually took a detour and took the long way home to think about things.

6 years until I see him again..
