  The night winded down as I got out the bath. My innocent rod now soft after I played with it. "Embarrassing! That always happens when I think of him. Also in the morning but Bartelo tells me that's normal for any man...." I thought as I wrapped my towel around my waist. I walked into his bedroom to see Miala standing at the foot of his bed showing her teeth as she stared at the door. "What's wrong girl?" I asked but she payed me no mind as his door opened revealing a young woman around my age with long black hair and green eyes. "Oh my dear Lucan..." She said before her eyes landed on Miala. Then she screamed "WOLF!!!!!!" and in rushed three guards wearing the royal colors of Atiria. "Stand back my lady!" One said as they raised their swords. "Put those away this instant!" I shouted to which Lady Dana rushed in.  "Gentleman! You dare raise your swords to a nobleman of Salara!" She said. "Forgive them my lord" she said. "Its a wolf!" The woman cried. "Her name is Miala!" I said as I approached them. That's when they noticed me. Half naked standing there with a towel wrapped around my private parts, water still dripping from my chest. "Who is this! I demand he be removed from my husband's room!" The woman said. "Oh so your Princess Lucile" I said surprised. "This uppity bitch was supposed to be his lover? Ridiculous!" I thought. "Now Princess this is Lord Rainer Asoto, Lucan's childhood best friend and a nobleman of the kingdom of Salara. You don't have the grounds to ask anything of anyone here! You are here at the behest of the King and you shouldn't even be in this wing! Guards if you'd kindly show the princess and her troupe to the guest wing" Lady Dana said annoyed as two guardsmen entered his room. "Of course Lady Dana" they said and escorted them out.

Once they were gone I spoke "that was supposed to be his lover?" Lady Dana looked down at the ground and a single tear fell from her eyes. "My lady?" I asked as I approached her. "I can't stand her! She doesn't deserve to be anywhere near Lucan!" She shouted. "That's for certain. What was his Majesty thinking?" I asked. "Did you hear her? She said her husband's room! She is not his wife nor will she ever be!" Lady Dana said. "I did hear that what a bitch!" I said as I walked behind his dressing partition to get dressed. Miala lowered her guard once more and laid down. "She shouldn't even be here but his highness wouldn't let her miss it..he's our Prince! Not her husband, not even her friend! Ugh!" Lady Dana said as she stomped over to his bed and sat down. Once she calmed down she left to help prepare dinner leaving me and Miala alone. "I don't like her!" I said and Miala huffed. "I need you to watch her Miala...something tells me she isn't done" I said and Miala licked my hand. I received the call for dinner and Miala joined me keeping her eye on Princess Lucile. As we ate dinner and talked I hated her even more. She's so damn uppity, definitely a spoiled princess and most certainly not anyone Lucan would love. Then she slipped up and not only did I catch her but Miala and Lady Dana did too. As the king went to the bathroom and everyone was seemingly distracted she pulled a vial from her breast and emptied it into his cup. Queen Asolda didn't notice but I surely did as did Miala. Once the king returned he went to sip his drink but Miala jumped and knocked it out his hand then growled at Princess Lucile. "What the!" King Zane said then I spoke up. "Good girl Miala! I can always count on you" I said. "Rainer explain to me why I shouldn't have her put down!" King Zane said angry. "She just saved your life your highness that's why. The little princess there put something in your drink rather clumsy I might add and I saw it with my own eyes" I said. "As did I!" Lady Dana said and walked over to Princess Lucile. She reached her hand into her breast and pulled out the empty vial. "Ah!" Princess Lucile gasped.

"What is this!" Lady Dana asked. Miala smelled it and coughed that's when I used my magic to levitate it into my hands. "Poison. A low dose wouldn't take effect till a day has passed. Of her own making it seems" I said as I used my magic to change its color revealing a dark red liquid. "Dark red is the color of blood. I know this all too well. Its made using the Aldine berries found an hour south of here. The same berries my mother ate before she died. Seems her intent was to poison you and take over Salara. Being the bride to be no one would question it. Oh but what of the Queen? You both were targeted tonight!" I said as I took Queen Asolda's drink. I poured it into the vial and most of it changed to a dark red. "Now I did not see her do this but I did see one of her guardsmen do something to the drink" I said as Miala growled at the one I mentioned who slowly backed away. "Wait till your father hears of this!" King Zane said to which Princess Lucile laughed. "What father? Didn't you hear? My poor father fell ill and has passed away" she said. "Due to poisoning I'd take it which you did. Oh but you didn't get to finish the job now did you?" I said. Then she looked at me with confusion. I stood up and approached her guards. "You gentleman are truly ready to commit treason for her affection huh?" I said to which they drew their swords. I just used my magic to blow their weapons out their hands then used ice magic to pin them to the wall of the dining room before I reached into their Tunics and pulled out two more vials. "She planned to poison her entire family to not only gain Salara but also Atiria. For what you ask? To turn them over to the Sudan Federation!" I said as Miala grabbed a note from her pocket. The guards arrested Lucile and took her to the dungeon as I showed the letter to King Zane. "I....I don't know what to say.....why would she do this?" He said. "I don't know your Highness truly" I said. "She's the second in line for the throne of Atiria but her older brother is only 3 years older so she wouldn't see the throne in this lifetime. That hunger for power may have caused it" Lady Dana said. "Yes your probably right Dana.....to think I was thinking of having her marry my son.....if he lived right now...who's to say she wouldn't have killed him...I'm ashamed" King Zane said. We finished our dinner and I released the guards who joined Lucile in the dungeons. "I'll send a letter to the Queen of Atiria tomorrow after the service. If she doesn't come herself" King Zane said. "Be sure to include that note" I said. "Believe me I will" he said as he saw me and Miala to Lucan's room. He petted her and thanked her for saving his life. He then left us alone as he went to his room. I tried to sleep but I couldn't no matter how hard I tried neither could Miala she just kept staring out his window. I decided to get up and go into his closet. Seeing all his clothes brought tears to my eyes. Then Miala sniffed one and her eyes went wide. "What's wrong girl?" I asked her she just kept looking at the door and back at me. "What is it?" I asked. She grabbed his jacket I was looking at and threw it onto her back it hit me....."do you have his scent?" I asked. She looked at me and howled lowly. "The port...that's where he was going!" I said. I got dressed in my normal tunic and pants and opened his window. Below his room was the wall of the castle and the lake beyond. I wrote a note and left it on his bed under his journal and hopped onto Miala's back. I tied his jacket around her neck and she leaped out his window and onto the wall. "Ok girl lets find him!" I said and she howled loudly as she began to run along the wall. "I know you live Lucan! I just feel it...hold on I'm coming!" I thought as Miala and I ran on disappearing into the blackness of the forest.
