I am a traveler of far in the east
My journey has been a many weeks
I've grown tired and weary
I seek refuge in a place of peace
Many struggles I have endured
Many places I have enjoyed
Many faces I have entertained
Many purposes I have engaged
I am a traveler coming to the west
I am just passing by without rest
I am not a face you have ever seen
I am not stopping till I get my dream
I spent time in an urban sprawl
It was a place were evils crawl
Not one cared about the others
I watched them kill their brothers
I was awoken in the mountains air
A place where everyone was fair
The heights showed me new visions
I found clarity for my life's mission
I stirred at the people being unreasonable
But this place of money isn't seasonal
Towers line the roads filled with greed
The river next to it couldn't quench their need
I am humbled to see this place of purity
Those who maintain it are no coward
It gives me strength to carry onward
Their passion moves me from insanity
I walked through the desert encampments
Their resilience is a form of enchantment
Without structure they thrive unbothered
It is a way of life I wish I could have honored
I sought refreshment in a place of schemes
Their world survived in this place of ruins
The people that passed did so in streams
An oasis between the shifting of sand dunes
My last length stands before me
My last push for a new place to see
My last distance to cross with bended knee
My last steps into somewhere I can finally be
I rejoiced at the sight of this new paradise
I gazed upon its lands of all heights
I dreamed of scenes like these many nights
I respected the journey and all its might
I have traveled far from the east
I have finally found what my heart needs
I have settled my soul in the west
I have understood what I need best
A day may come when I journey once more
A time when I finally have rested my core
Maybe one day I will travel back East
Maybe one day I will return when I find peace
I was once a traveler, far from the east.
