My Mask

Conceal don't feel, Don't let them know. For some it is easier to hide what they feel rather than being showing how miserable they really are. Lies that they told to others when they ask how they are. Lies that they wanted everyone to believe including themselves.
The poem my mask was on first person pint of view. The first stanza was about how those smiles and laugh that the poet had been displaying for years was not as they are. It can hide their tears and screams that has been on their minds. Those are all mask that can cover the real emotions that they were trying to conceal.
The second stanza, was how the poet prefer to look happy and living their life carefree of what is happening in the world. They believed that it was the be choice and just keep those problems untold. It was sad that people prefer to hide what they feel and keep things untold.
They are hiding under a personal which is not who they really are. It is said in the third stanza, that no one really know who they are and only know who they want to believe they are. But then "But I wish I could let it free. Let them know what's under", was wanting to remove the mask and just being free from pretending. It is tiring to pretend, ut sometimes it is the only solution.
"But instead, I practice, my smile in the mirror". The fourth stanza was more like a practice process which can make it easier to look alright. They become an actor and actress in reality, as it needs to be perferct and happy. The mask needs to be fully shiny and unbroken, any imperfections can easily break it and reveal what is under.
"What is wrong? You need help?", the poet choose to use these lines for the beggining of the fifth stanza. They described it as the line that are commonly asked by people around you when they see you at a miserable state. That is all what the ask, and it become tiring, so they decided to just wear a mask and be under it.
People choose to hide under a mask as it is a way more easier way to live. Most people are just curious on what you feel, but they cannot really help you and just leave after they saw how miserable you are. It can just make it more complicated, so they just hide and pretend to be all and well. It was a poem about hiding the truth from people and being afraid that people will just leave if they found out what is really hiding the mask.
