Sunlight crept through the opened windows of the temple, birds could be faintly heard in the distance, and the comfortable warmth from the night before became a slight chill.
A small groan left Macaque as he cracked his eyes open, he blinked a few times to get adjusted to the light before rose his face from your chest.
Macaque glanced down to see that you were still asleep. A small grin appeared on his face as he carefully got off of you and watched you for a few seconds.
"A hundred years...huh?" Macaque mumbled as he stared at your face, his eyes flickering to your parted lips. The thought of touching them strayed until he stood up and turned away. Macaque summoned a portal and stepped through. He was just in time as the sounds of footsteps approached the living room.
The first thing you noticed when you came to was the odd sound of heavy breathing. At first, you thought it was Macaque having some sort of bad dream...but the breathing came from above.
You opened your eyes and found the face of the Monkey King scowling at you.
"Wake up!" He yelled as he grabbed the bottom of the couch and flipped it with you still on it.
You rolled onto the floor to avoid being crushed by the couch and glared at the seething simian, "What the heck is your problem?"
"My problem? My problem is that you're here in my temple, sleeping on my couch, smelling like that wannabe me!" Wukong screeched. "And out of all the years I haven't seen you, this is how you wanna reunite? I'm hurt, peaches!"
Wukong dropped to his knees and held the area where his heart would be.
You felt your anger rise in your throat, especially as the memories of yesterday flooded your mind. You wanted to be angry at him so, so badly for how he brushed over what he did to the 'wannabe-me.'
But, Macaque's wishes also kept your toxic words at bay. For now, or until Macaque is comfortable with it, you won't confront him about it.
"Uh...[N/N]? Earth to [Y/N]? You there?"
You snapped out of your thoughts as you leaned back from Wukong's approaching finger, he had gotten closer when you were distracted and knelt in front of you.
You fixed your scowl as your frown curved back into a flat line, you rose a brow at the king and asked, "I apologize for trespassing, would you like me to leave?"
"Woah, woah, you don't have to take it too far, besides we're friends! My house is your horse," Wukong winked.
"That's not how-"
"-Anyway, did it hurt when you fell from heaven? I wouldn't imagine the big boss givin' ya holidays to come spend time with your favorite person," Wukong winked.
