Narrator POVKierra looked over all the clothes she had in her closet. As she scanned over all of them a certain skirt and top caught her eye. She decided on a long sleeve pink crop top with butterflies and a matching skirt.
She made sure to grab her purse, in case they ask for her ID. She turned around to her mirror and fixed her hair to make it look a little better. Then she grabbed a lipgloss and mascara. She applied the lipgloss, making her brown skin pop and lips moisturized. She then applied the mascara, her eyelashes curling up.
She smiled at herself in the mirror. Kierra placed the lipgloss and mascara into her bag and put on her white boots. She made sure they were zipped before she headed to her bedroom door. She turned around one last time to check herself. 'I'm literally gorgeous' she thought, admiring her face and body, every curve that she possessed, the way her eyelashes looked, everything.
She made her way past Mike's room and then the twins. She walked down the stairs, not really in a hurry. "I'm going out!" She yelled. "Be back before 10 pm!" Her mother yelled from the kitchen, chopping up strawberries for the twins. "Yes ma'am!" Kierra obliged.
Kierra POV
I opened the door to be hit with the sunny weather that held Derry. I walked to my pink car that I received as a birthday gift from my mom. I opened the door and pushed the keys back inside. I closed the door and looked in my rear view mirror. No one's coming, I thought. I backed out of the drive way and left my house.
I drove out of our peaceful neighborhood into the street of Derry. The town was particularly busy today since it was a week before everyone had to go back to school. I drove past an antique shop and parked on the side. I took out the keys and the car stopped. I look around to realize that a guy was staring at me.
I know how Derry doesn't have a lot of minorities so I brushed it off. He must've never seen a black goddess before. I got out the car and closed the door. I walked up to the restaurant. 'Allison's bakery' the sign above said. It was pastel blue bakery with stripes.
I admired the sweet scent that made its way to my nose when I walked in. "Hi welcome to Allison's bakery!" The brunette behind the counter greeted me. I smiled at her and she smiled back. I walked over to her.
"Hi, I'm looking for a job and I was wondering if you guys had any spots open." I say to the brunette who had blue eyes and a cute mole near her eye. She moved a strand of her hazelnut hair out of her face before answering.
"I'm sorry, we're not hiring. But our strawberry shortcakes are really good!" She advertised. I nodded like I was interested in the cake but really I wasn't. "That looks delicious, but I'm allergic to strawberries." I lied, hoping to get out of there sooner so I could look for some more jobs.
"Oh that's just too bad!" She pouted. I nod and make my way to the front door. "Thanks anyway!" I say, opening the door. "Your welcome! Have a great day and good luck finding a job!" She replied, smiling. I leave the store and make my way to a local grab n go store.
Those places are always hiring I know that. While I'm passing by, the same man from earlier was staring at me while I walked by. I took a glance at him. He was about three inches taller than me, gray hair, wrinkles forming around his forehead and he had a wedding ring on. He's married and scoping out high school girls? How low can he get?
I scoff and turn my head the other way. Honestly, men are so weird sometimes. I bet he has a perfectly good wife sitting at home. I walk to the Grab n go and open the door. The old woman behind the counter smiles at me kindly before ringing up some kid. I smile back at her, my dimples popping out, my skin radiating from the light of the store.
I turn my head to see a blonde guy hogging the pinball machine. He seems really focused. I turn back around and make my way to the counter. "Hi Pretty girl, what can I do for you?" The old woman asks me, her gray hair kind of sparkling and red tinted cheeks glowing. "I'm actually looking for a job." I say.
"FUCKING SHITHEAD!" The blonde guy from earlier yells, hitting the pinball machine. I flinch automatically at his outburst and turn around to look at what happened. He must've lost. He turns around back to me and the old woman. "THE FUCK ARE YOU LOOKING AT?" He yells, his icy blue eyes throwing daggers at my dark brown ones. I roll my eyes, still turned around so he can see.
I swear he saw red. I flip my hair and turn around ignoring him. "That's Vance. He can get a little rowdy sometimes but he's a good boy." The old woman coos, talking about the violent blonde boy.
I highly doubt he's a good boy with that attitude, but he's hot. I know that for sure."About the job thing, if you can deal with Vance every week day then yes you have a job." The old woman tells me. I nod. "When are you available?" She asks me. "I'm a volleyball player so I won't be here when I have practices or a game. And sometimes i have to take care of my younger siblings. I'll let you know my schedule when I get it." I explain to her. She simply nods. "When I was your age I was as beautiful as you." She smiled.
I smile back. "I'll be back next week." I say. "I never got your name though." I mention. "Oh, I'm Ms.Kram but everybody just calls me grandma." Ms. Kram says.
"I'm Y/n. It's nice meeting you miss Kram" I say to the older woman. "See you Monday Dear." She tells me. I nod and leave the grab n go. Before that I look back at Vance. He's still playing that dumb pinball machine. I roll my eyes and open the door and leave. I make my way back to the car. It's still light outside so I know it's not 10 pm at night. I look Into a store mirror and see it's 1 pm.
I still have time to kill. I walk back to my pink car and open the door. I close the door and take out my keys. I put them in and start the car. The engine roars and I back out of the spot im in. I drive down the downtown area of Derry until I stop near a wooded area. I notice a car parked and next to it is my brother's bike.
Shit! How could I forget about the bowers gang! I stop the car and take out my keys before parking. I open the door in a hurry and shut it. I walk over to the wooded area.
